10 years retired after 27 years as a maintenance millwright at a large waste water treatment plant. Anything from fractional HP pumps to 1500 HP air compressors
"It may be s##t to you but it's my bread and butter"
I designed WWTP's for 20yr, then moved to doing HVAC and plumbing design for the labs and out buildings. Loved the incoming grit chambers and all the weird stuff coming down the channels !!
27 years and counting with Boeing. Started in '85 with Rockwell International and Reagan's Star War's programs. (my first clearance) Moved to C-17, wrote first installation paper, took a detour to Boeing Everett as an ME, back to Long Beach as a Contract ME, rolled to salary, then many years in Change/Config Management. Saw the writing on the wall, took a job up in the PNW for our Advanced Developmental Composites group - creating processes. 25yrs C17, 2yrs other stuff. Plan on retiring in 5yrs or so...
Were you in Anaheim originally? We had a chunk of that stuff early on.
Seal Beach, I was a Electro-Optics Laser Tech, highest Union position. When the contracts dried up, We were (3 of us, I had 1yr seniority, other two had 20+ ) laying ethernet lines for awhile. Got offered a job in Anaheim, but figured C-17 was the better option.
Quality Director for an OEM engine manufacturing plant.
Lots of 'speed' people in the plant including 2 that I know of in the Guiness Book of Records for various classes of land speed. They are go to guys for me when any type of question comes up that I don't know about my car.

Probably so, as long as you weren't commuting in from Norco or something. You would have ended up in LB/SB/HB anyway when they closed Anaheim a couple years back.

Anything that would fit down a manhole and some you just had to wonder Weirdest was a boogie board, no sign of the surfer though.

Actually, our first house was in Southridge (south of Fontana) and it was a long commute. Only there 5yrs though, moved to Mission Viejo after a brief stay in HB. Just sold that house last year to move up here.
For the last 25 years, worked as an engineer, manager, and director in several manufacturing companies including an auto manufacturer and several tier one automotive parts suppliers.
Prior to that was a machinist and ran the machine shop at a pump company. Also worked as a mechanic while putting myself through school and had a performance auto parts store.
