I still love my C5. That being said, first years have issues, but the C7 is awesome. Its a little too refined for my taste, but it is definitely the start of a great car. Give it a year or two, and the c7z should be amazing.
OK, my take....
IMHO The C7 (and the C6) is not a corvette. It is a fabulous sports car and an incredible value, but Corvette's have hide-away headlamps.
Now now......they are all Corvettes. Even the ugly ones like the C4 and C7.
For a guy who does HPDE/Solo with a mostly stock C5, There will be no better day then when a C7 owner shows up thinking that his C7 will make up for his poor driving skills. This has been proven time and time again! The Track don't lie!

Once again you can't have a fun discussion without someone putting words in your mouth.
Maybe I should have said "oval like" or seperate brake light "thinges"
And yes the Lamborghini Diablo does not look edgey at all because it has round lights!
We had a owner of a Chevy dealership at last nights Corvette Club meeting. When he was at training in Nevada(?), he said that the Corvette Racing team was involved in the design from the ground up. Much of this car is designed for racing. After hearing everything that was done to the car you just wanted to put money down right there to get one.
After track time (C6z & C7), he said that the car (C7) drives way above any stock Corvette he has ever been in.
Would you expect him to say anything but good remarks about the C7 since he sells them for a living ?

Nothing beats seat time. I'm pretty sure there's not too many people that actually take a car to a track and think otherwise.
Miatas with a good driver will destroy a Corvette at Streets of Willow if the Corvette is driven by a complete novice. Fact of life. You really DO need skill to drive a car to its potential. No matter how many nannies you put on a car, it doesn't ensure the driver will be able to push the car as hard as it can go.
