Haven't taken the time to get the Vette summer ready yet, but I did get some new shoes on the truck yesterday. Went with the chrome snowflake 20's and some BFG Trail white letter tires. I think it looks much better now. I've always been the white letter tire kinda guy since I grew up in that era so I will always gravitate towards those if they're available. The factory 18 inch wheels were okay, but just didn't do it for me. Been looking at new wheels for quite a while now and just decided these were the best choice. I was looking for a wheel that had a lip but I didn't find anything that I liked much. Wife is better so I may take some time next week to get Grape out too. We shall see how the days go. Hope y'all have a great Memorial Day weekend and BIG Thanks to all the Vets we have in our country. Past, present and future.

Those wheels are a major improvement!

I was going to the Big Sandy car show today, but it rained here until about 8am and the roads are just beginning to dry now. Elmo went anyway. I would go later, but wouldn’t be able to park with him, so I don’t think I’ll drive that far.

There’s a cruise-in in Elkton, KY this afternoon I may go to, if it isn’t raining. The darn weather is ruining every chance I have to get the cars out.

So happy to hear Mrs. Grape is doing better and better. Prayers will continue. Miss you brother.

I agree Mark, the 20" chrome wheels with BFG white letter tires look much better. Nice improvement.

Thanks, Larry. She's day to day but doing better. I really miss going to shows and cruises with you too. I have no one here to do that with. It's been crazy raining here too. Heard of that movie "A River Runs Thru It"? That was my backyard last Tuesday. I've got a guy coming today to give me a quote on the driveway repair. All the rocks and understructure went to the bottom and my shovel isn't up to the task. 😄 Hope you can get out and have some fun soon too.

Well, the Corvette community I cut my teeth on and grew into what I am today with went quietly into the night a couple nights ago. The web site they had is no longer. But some, if not most, are on facebook with the same name as the site was. So I reluctantly created an account there. So I'm on there now and thought I'd share my username with y'all in case you want to connect or have any suggestions on which groups to follow if any. I'm not super excited about it but it had to be done if I wanted to stay in touch with them. So, here is my page if you want to check it out. I don't have much there yet as I've only been on it for a week or so.

For some reason it won't let me link it so you can look up Grape Ape if you want....

I can’t find your page. If you click on the profile pic… then click on the three dots…

At the bottom of the Profile Settings is a button to copy the link for the page! 😎

I've done that a couple times now. My profile view setting was on only friends can see it so I changed it to public. I'll have to check it out more tomorrow.

Copy/paste the link but delete the first section which ends in dot come. We can copy paste it to fb the I think without the forum throwing the icon up instead. We may still need to join said page though.

Let's try this one. I sent the link to my email and I know it works from that.

FINALLY getting the Vette out. Better late then never they say. Took the cover off today and knocked the dust off. Cleaned it up really well so I can try out a new battery powered M18 cordless polisher I bought. We'll see how that goes tomorrow for some of it. Wife and I have doctor appointments pretty much all week so I'll have to see how much time I can make for this job. I have 1 tomorrow and the wife has 3, Wednesday thru Friday, and they generally take all of the afternoons away from anything I want to get done. Tuesdays I usually spend with my parents so that day's usually shot the whole day. Maybe by the end of next weekend I'll have it on the road and summer ready. My cousin wants to meet me at a car show on July 4th so I have to make sure there's no surprises.

You guys have a full schedule. Best wishes for Darci at her doctor visits.
That purple paint looks show ready as is Mark. Just go over it with a detailer.

I tried out my new polisher and I think it will do the trick. It's not as heavy as the porter one I have but there's also no cord. I'll try to get the polish done by Wednesday evening. The car would be presentable for sure the way it is but I want the dust to just blow off of it when I drive it down our road. Then Saturday I'll give the key a turn and see if it will fire up. Should.....
My doctor appointment went as expected. My right heal has been giving me issues the last few months and he told me what I thought it was. Arthritis has set in and it's irritating the tissue there. Gave me some stretching exercises to do and told me to take some over the counter pain stuff. I hate taking anything so....but he said it was for mainly the inflammation. If it's not better in a couple weeks then he'll take some x-rays. I think it will just have to be a life long ordeal. He said it was from all those years working on hard surfaces and walking around as much as I did on them. Who would have thought that when we were young?

I have the Porter Cable orbital with cord, actually it's the Griots branded version. Cordless would be the way to go, no cord in the way.

Had Grape running and warmed up Saturday. Final coat of polish will go on and off tomorrow. AC is working so I won't have to service it before it hits the road. Thought for sure I'd have to get some freon in it. My vent temp gauge isn't working as it seems to be stuck on 60 degrees. When I put it in the vent it was on 60 and when I checked it 10 minutes later it was still on 60. And I know it was colder then that by feel. So I have a new digital one that I found yesterday and will try that one tomorrow too. But he's ready to rock and roll again. 1st show is on July 4th so I'll see how the AC does then too. This is pretty much the same picture but without the dollies to roll it around. Storms coming in tonight so it might be a fun evening.
