Have any of you driven behind a salt/sanding truck? Believe me, you would not want this to happen if you happen to be driving a well-kept car.
I would get a nice rental car that has all-season or snow tires on it. Of course, a trickle-charger for the Corvette battery is recommended, while you're gone.
By the way, most rental cars allow unlimited mileage, so don't work about that.
My first drive in my Z06 was a twelve hundred mile cruise from Newark, N.J.(purchase)to Kansas City, Mo.(home).
It was a blast! If you like scenic drives or are just an observant type? You'll enjoy that type of drive even more in your Corvette. That being said I drove in summer. I think if I was in this situation I would just get an economy rent a car.
1000 miles? If you're worried about weather in the Vette, hop on a plane man, that's a long drive in a boring rental car. Once you get there, most terminals have a rental car company on site.
Wow, I guess I will never fully understand. I bought my car on a Sunday night and by the following Sunday I had put 2k on it. If I put less than 15k on it in the first year, I'll be surprised. I bought this car TO DRIVE IT.
I put 24k on my C4 in 18 months of owning it and it wasn't nearly this fun to drive.
