Why the hell companies do something like that right before Christmas is crazy ... they could at least wait until after the first of the year before kicking someone out the door !! Best of luck to ya !
I know it has to do with book keeping but really?? A lot of CEO's have lost touch with the guys who helped get them there.
Best of luck to you James. Good on you for having your house and stuff paid for.
All the cliché's are Bull Sh.t when it comes to getting fired/laid-off, nothing good ever came out of my loosing a job or my wife getting laid-off after 28yrs…2yrs prior to retirement and insurance. I'm 72 yrs old and still haunted by some bad lay-off experiences. It sucks *****…but I will add…it is a good chance to take some time for yourself. Take a road trip or do something you have been putting off. The first wave of lay-offs in California came when I had reached management, thinking I was safe, however, middle management was the first to go….and why is it always Christmas??? End of the year earnings reports???
Have a wonderful Christmas in-spite of them. My wife now works as a contractor for that same company, on her terms, and her schedule.
