Went to dinner for our anniversary last night and I instantly spotted a white C7 in the parking lot when we were parking so we went over to look at it.

It's even more gorgeous in person than in photos. I've liked the C7 since I first saw the introductory pics and I'm sure I like it now.

Even at my age I can handle - and even look forward - to change and to new designs. Gotta' move forward. It's OK to love the things and design of the past but I need new ideas and designs to keep the juices flowing.

I love the new Z06 even more.

Agreed and the C7.R looked amazing and kept the Ferrari's in check this weekend

And the Z06 is a great step in the next gen Vette, keeping this brand moving forward and relevant for generations to come!

Anything fast always gets my attention so I'm sure the C7 is a great car. But I prefer my cars like my women... gentle curves... not angular and hard lines.

There is more to life than straight line speed my friend. There are also many cars that are "slower" than my Z that I'd love to have.

I read via email notification and don't disagree with you. The C5 is a great performance platform, no question. It's also old and outdated verses new technology. Does that make it bad? No. I love my C5 and plan to keep it. I may have misinterpreted your comment as I read it as faster in a straight line equals better car. With they logic, drag cars would be the "best" cars on the road.

Maybe I'm just getting boring or old, but I've found I can't use my C5s power anywhere near the fun limit on public roads. It doesn't have too much power for the platform, but hard to do much more than putt putt around, which isn't that exciting. I should probably try a track day, but not sure I want to get into that as I've heard it's fairly addicting, and very expensive.

My honest take on the C7 is that it's an outstanding car. Fast, looks good from most angles, not all, and seems like a very nice overall package. With that said, I don't want to afford one right now. For the money, I'd rather have a used 911.

Pretty much sums up my view as well. I'm definitely "feeling the love" for the C7 more than I ever did for the C6, primarily because IMO the C6 wasn't a forward enough step away from my C5 in terms of design and performance to entice me to switch.

However, knowing that my 04' low-mileage, personalized (modded) vert is worth a heck of a lot more to me emotionally than any trade-in/resale value, I plan to have the best of both worlds. A beautiful C5 convertible cruiser and a road-eating C7Z.

Plus, I've been to many Corvette and mix-auto shows over the years and I've come to one undeniable conclusion. The guy who has the fastest car is usually the same guy who spent the most money.

I personally think the c7 is as ugly as a Camaro. Although I respect the power plants.

IMO, the C5 is hands down the best looking corvette.....but it's JMO.

Since when did a rollbar or Sparcos make your car faster? This is really a stupid comparison to make in the first place.

The C7 is an amazing car no matter how you slice it. I have 2 C5's and love them, won't be able to afford a C7 for quite some time but I won't discount the C7 at all. GM did a great job and they stand to sell a metric buttload of them.

Sparco's add 5hp each, or at least 3hp at the wheel.

I guess I just see things different because the new C7 does absolutely nothing for me , and yes I can afford one . It just looks like most other foreign imports out there and in my opinion doesn't even resemble the all American Corvette that we once knew. If you just like it for the performance then so be it , but they should have just introduced it as another Chevy brand because the Corvette has died starting with the C6.

I know guys that are not interested in even the slightest at looking at anything past 1971. They don't consider anything newer than 1971 to be a Vette. Don't want to look at it, don't want to drive it, don't want to ride in it.

The car is all about nostalgia. Memories accociated with the design.

I'm like that with the 3rd generation Camaro. I grew up driving them. Sitting in one really brings back memories.

This is just the way people are. Lets not let something as simple as this divide us.

I am a little put off by all of the C7's ducts and vents, functional though they may be. The car in green or black looks pretty sweet as the black ducts fade away.

Other than that, I think the C7s exterior looks great--love the short overhangs and tidy dimensions. Glad the stiff chassis, great interior, performance, etc., is making so many Euro car guys and car mags take notice.

I have owned 4 C5Z06s. Loved them all. Have a black 04 now. The interior is nowhere near a C7s in quality, but the outside of the Z looks great, and I love the low curb weight. Still, the C7 is a mighty step forward and most seem to agree it is a stellar performer.

So many cars....so little time (and money).

The problem is that people are too attached to their "generation", That anything newer than what they have, Means its not a Corvette and is junk. The C5 is nice and is definitely the car that propelled the Corvette to the next level, But its been outdone several times since its end. People are too stubborn to accept the new models and change.

Each new generation has propelled the Corvette brand to the next level. With the C6, They perfected the chassis and pushed that generation to be one of the best performing cars in the world. The wide body C6's are beautiful.

The C7 has pushed the interior and technology to new heights and has completely broken down the barrier for stereotypical "American car" comments. The aerodynamic features are top notch and the car as a whole has saved the Corvette brand.

Good comments; you know for me I hate spending money on something I can't use (like 600 plus hp), I don't track but when you see a supercharged vett all modified for car show "best car" and it is not even driven (unloaded from a enclosed trailer), I could not handle it, I want to use what I got. I just put 5k into my exterior with front end paint job and carbon fiber parts and am now having the issue of "babying her" with bras on all the time driving and such (shes sitting in the garage for her first wax). I got to go with you 100 percent on your stable, my primo 98 vert will sit next to my 15 Z06 (and I am going to drive them!)

Hey ET hope you are having a good day!

So my perception, it is better in most every way besides a bit of extra weight and the way it looks, although not bad I still prefer the C5 body style. Tell ya this though, the C7's improvements in interior materials, from the one I have seen and performance are good enough for me to consider one in the future, C6 just could never get me there.
