Got my stealth box from Double D today. Dropped the sub in and it sounds amazing. All I have left is to trace and eliminate some serious alternator whine.
Noticed my AC wasn't blowing cold the other day. Bought a can of R134a with gauge on sale at auto zone. It was low. Charged it up and it blows cold . Only cost $31
Man that looks awesome, check that the RCA cords are not running along any wires that have power running through em, good practice to keep any wires that carries your signal separated from other wires, also double check your grounds, you might can make a test jumper and run a separate ground to see if that cures your issue before going to the trouble of installing a new one.
Success! I just invested another 3 hours. I could've done it quick but why not take your time and do it right? I flipped my amp upside down so that the RCAs and the 4ga power wire never come in contact. Then I upped my ground game. I had a 10ga wire before. This time I used some 5ga wire (yes, 5. When you double up 2 8ga lengths you get 5ga) for my ground. I decided to ground it to the frame of the car near the back bumper. The spot before was very thin metal. This is solid. Also the length was shortened from about 6 feet to about 18 inches. This reduces the chance of ground loops. I read old threads about the rear frame ground but no clear pics. Check these out. Removed the tail lights and drilled a hole through plastic trunk panel and easy access. You can fit your drill and flashlight in there. Tons of room. The noise floor remains which tells me it's an issue with the head unit. So far, fingers crossed, there's no alternator whine. I'll post more results tomorrow after I actually drive it.

Great looking car. Always loved that color combo. I was the same way on the BSM. The moldings look good for being a factory item but the car looks so smooth and clean without them. Glad I took mine off. Lots of before and after pics here to help you with your decision.
I am guessing that you had to have it painted after removing the bsm?
duh? prob a lame question, huh?
I love the way it looks w/o it, but there is no way I will pay to have it painted, as good as my paint already looks. Know what I mean?
Most likely you won't need it painted if you remove them unless the door has been reprinted already or it's been harshly exposed to the elements it's whole life. You can always put it back on
Thanks guy!
It wont leave any glue / sticky-stuff, on the paint where it is taken off?
If you have the time, would you tell me exactly how you took yours off?
I mean did you just pull it off, or use heat, or is there any trick to it I may need to know about?
Thanks again,
Chris
I almost spent $139 on one of those top storage racks available on the web until I found this thread. They say imitation is the best form of flattery so......Thanks for posting this storage idea. Works PERFECTLY!!! I will cover it with a sheet to protect if from dust and any possible scratches!!
Awesome!
I used the same hangers from HF, about 3 yrs ago, to make me one. No way, this white boy was gonna pay over $100 for one! lol
Scored a steal of a deal on your fav auction site last week. Hurst shifter, C6 shift box, and C6 shift **** for $117. Just put it in and about to go for a spin.
agreed! im gonna build a 2nd one for the other top (i have both). i need a safe place to hang it when im in the garage working on the car.
did you ever find that info i posted on the stripe off wheel? its a good investment.
Man I some how missed this one?
But anyway, no, I looked for it but I guess I didn't look in the right spot.
I have had a lot of other things going on lately, I will keep looking around, and when you get time, and can let me know where its at,
I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
