I am glad you know all about the seafoam treatment!
I have never been able to get a clear answer on how to do it, so I have never tried it, but I cant stand the thought of not doing something that may keep me out of the shop down the road, if you know what I mean?

Anyway, when your busy-butt gets a chance to slow down (LOL), please let me know the seafoam procedures for the fuel system, and let me know if you ever use it in the oil?

All I do now is add a qt. of synthetic Lucus to my syn mobil 1 oil change, everytime, and a bottle of Lucas fuel additive, in every tank.
Oh, I did just get thru running a tank of gas with the Lucus Deep Clean Fuel System Treatment.
I love Lucas products! I have my reasons and proof that they work!
My f150 has 250,000 on it and still runs good as new, and used Lucas most of its life, in the oil and gas.

Man I wish I lived close by! I would love to get inside your head some! lol
Are you a Certified Vette Mechanic? If your not, sounds like you could be!
Anyway, I am near Pensacola, FL.,(on the Flora/Bama Line)about 4-5 hrs from Atlanta, if you ever come to the Gulf Coast, maybe I could get the Wife to cook us some good old country grub and biscuits!!
I would love to check your baby out in person, with all of those mods, and get your advice on which way to go on my interior!

Thanks again, and please slow down a little bit!
You're making me tired! lol!

Any of the vacuum lines. I think I pulled the one near the brake booster. You will hear it sucking air. Pour 3/4 of the liquid in a cup and let the hose sip it slowly. When you're almost done dunk the hose. The goal is to stall the motor with the last little bit. Let it set for maybe 30-60 mins and then crank it up. You can hold the revs higher than idle if it's smoking good.

The remainder 1/4 I dumped in the gas tank. I've never added it oil. If you do you're supposed to change it within a few hundred miles. I had just done an oil change so I didn't wanna do another. Don't add it to the oil and leave it in there. It's only short term to break up deposits and stuff.

Did a little preventive maintenance today. Changed coolant, new radiator hoses, new fuel filter, and added another wall rack for my second top. This car still had the original hoses, date stamped 1997! The fuel filter looked original too. Took it for a spin and will check for leaks in the morning. I also installed led reverse lights.

I need to do the same...

Did you do anything to relieve fuel pressure before pulling the filter?

I thought I read that there is some special tool required to remove the fuel filter?

Two questions: 1. Did U use the fill procedure that I have read about on filling after a flush and is the temp where it was before the flush
2. Where did u get the backup lights and R they brighter than orig.
Thanks Man and be safe

No tools needed, the clips pop loose with your fingers. 10mm bolt holds bracket in place. I popped the right side loose first and held a rag there to soak up the gas that spilled. After I was done I turned the key to "on" several times to prime the filter before cranking it. LEDs are much brighter! Look at the pics how white they are compared to the yellow incandescent bulbs. My reverse lights are tinted so yours would be even brighter. They came from Corvette Mods. I followed the write ups on fill procedures. It might be my imagination but it seems to be running a smidge cooler now.

After hearing all of the horror stories I decided to go ahead and put an LMC5 bypass module in so I never get stranded. I bought the unlock her as well thank goodness because I had a slight hiccup when I installed it. I'll keep the unlock her and one of the storage bands just in case I run across a fellow Corvette owner that ever gets stuck

OP I am late to the party here but two things: Roll Tide !!!! and I spent 11 years running a shop on 124 in Snellville and used to run with a bunch of Camaro/WS6 and Vette guys and sorta curious if we ever crossed paths at some point. Still keep in touch with a lot of friends there. Great thread by the way RTR !!

The hiccup was that the column was in a locked position when I started the install and I inadvertently blew the fuse in the locker. I think I paid around $40 for both the LMC5 and the unlocker and it only takes about 15 minutes to install.

Great thread.. I am in process of doing a lot of similar upgrades. When you painted your calipers did you take them off the car or leave them on. I was going to buy powder coated calipers but now that I see how well yours came out I will try to paint my origional ones.

Thanks... Great looking Vett as well.

I used the brush on kit and left them on the car. I got as far back behind them as I could but it's not 100% coverage. Let's be honest no one is ever going to see the back of the caliper. As for the other stuff I bought it on eBay for pretty cheap. I think it was about $30 a piece I cannot remember the seller but if you look up C5 leather shift boot you will find them.

Bought a CCA catch can off a guy who sold his vette to buy an IS400. Got a really good deal. If this isn't hooked up right someone please chime in. It's a 98 model car. Apparently the earlier C5s has the PCV set up different.
