Hello everyone, I'm going to be relocating in the next 30 days or less and need help with finding a reliable and safe to use company to ship my c5 vette. I'll be moving from Rochester Michigan to Savannah Georgia. Any advise???????
Thanks for the info guy, unfortunately upon contacting them asking for a quote, they're claiming that they don't deliver in my route. So back to square one.
Go to Uship.com , put in your info and have the different transport companies bid for your business. Any company that contacts you, you can read their reviews and make an informed decision.
You might also ask InterCity for a suggestion of who services that route . . . Reliable, Horseless Carriage, Executive . . .your moving company might also have suggestions . . .I've used Interstate but that was just from Southern Cali to Phoenix and I think they're more regional.

I think Criswell Chevy uses Plycon to ship their C7s. You might contact Mike Furman at Criswell and make sure then contact the company to see if they go on the route you need.
My good friend uses Reliable, has shipped his C6 down from Harbor Springs, MI to Florida the last 3 years with no problems. If I remember right he drops it off in Trenton at their depot and meets up with the driver when he gets down to Florida. Good luck with your move, we left Rochester in 1993 for North Carolina. You'll love it down here, no putting the C5 away for the winter.

I just contacted Reliable based out of Canton, waiting on a quote now. All of the others are so damn expensive I had no idea! I'd I had a newer year I'd even consider driving it down myself, way too scared of something going wrong it it though. Yes the thought of driving it all year long along with my Can am Spyder really excites me

That trip should be no big deal for about any C5 unless yours has problems that you aren't mentioning. I'd prefer to drive mine, but that's just me.
Do you really think so? I'm seriously considering it,with the crazy shipping cost. No known issues with it,just weather permitted and roads permitted. Plus having someone drive the moving truck as well... Decisions, decisions I guess.
I would consider it....will be a nice trip. I drove my dad's C5 from Indiana to Virginia years ago and it was an easy trip. You will enjoy it and save yourself a ton of $$$. Shipping is gonna be pretty pricey from door to door enclosed. Good luck.

Drive the moving truck yourself and tow the Vette on a trailer. Problem solved.

Timing is key this this time of year, planning around no snow or ice from MI thru northern Georgia. Clear sailing from there. With a moving truck it will probably be a two day event, 15+ hours driving time.

I've been an OTR driver 5 years now for Precision Motor Transport Group which is based out of Okemos, Michigan. We haul BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, and Audi the majority of the time but, we also do special move requests and we have enclosed trucks. I can't say what the price would be off-hand but, it would be competitive with other contemporary carriers. Special move request section is at the top of the page. Good luck!!
Sounds like a nice weekend drive and no sweat for a C5 from MI to GA. Not a big deal - I've done these kinds of 1000 mile weekends drives several times. Get the car on cruise and no issues.
