Don't get me wrong, I still like the C5 but our modded out C5Z didn't get half the attention our stock C7 gets. cant imagine the attention it's going to get in a couple weeks with the corsa xtreme on it and a bunch of carbon pieces.

So is the outdated turd the C3 or the C5?

Must be the C3, chasis designed in the 50's and used from 1963-1982.
I did love my C3's back then and still do despite their inferior performance as compared to the C5-C7 generation Corvettes, basically the same chasis structure. I would love to have a '70-'72 Ontario Orange Convertible Resto-mod with Saddle leather interior and a White top.

Early C3s are some of my favorites to look at when done right.

The c5 lol. The c3 has character that can't be replicated. 69 L46 vert. 350/350 11:1 M21 3:70 car

I was chuckling a lot on despite being 50yrs old, they sure cheaped out the cars by the time the c5 came around. Tons of metalwork inside the c3 cabin and unique casted parts. Lots of 'tech' for 69 with fiber optics and stuff. Hell, even base brakes were 4 piston floating calipers on all four corners.

You get big block engine options, tons of choice when ordering etc.

Car is clearly from a different time.

All the effort of the c5 is in the engineering. It is a great car, but it's cheap and all the penny pinching to keep the brand alive shows. This changed some with the c6 for the better, but it's still mostly poo. The c7s come with real brakes on all of them, tons of packages, the interior is WAY up in quality.

So yeah, I stand by it. It's tongue in cheek mostly; but true.

Yes I agree "when done right." I like a stock looking metal bumper C3, especially with the egg crate side grills. SRlll round tube frame, C5 front / C4 rear suspension and an LS7 with 6 spd manual trans I don't like 19 or 20 inch rims on C3's, maybe a 17/17 inch verion of the Rallye wheels in 8 & 9 inch widths. I would retain a mostly stock looking quality leather interior with a 1982 style steering wheel. It would probably cost more than a 2017 C7 Z06. Nice to dream.

Don't know about the C5, but today I took a ride in my C6 & I still feel that my body style looks better than a C7, they haven't grown on me at all, I think that I have a "keeper", no transformer cars for me

When I see a C7 (especially Z06) I think it looks like it's moving just sitting there, they just look fast to me.

OP started this thread as childish taunt aimed at C7 owners, thinly veiled as an idiotic query as to why GM spent money developing the C7 series instead of going backwards and spending it all on a single modified C5. Yeah, I smell troll too.

All fine automobiles. When asked to compare, I say that each one does at least one thing better than the other two (the 2nd yellow C5, in the background on the left side of the photo, is not mine). What's not to like?

Hey Jack,
All I have to do is change your exact wording above from 7+ years to 6+ years for me... and it echo's my feelings...........EXACTLY

SFC Rick is no troll. He has been a valuable contributor on this forum for years! He has also served this country with honor and distinction and is entitled to his opinion.

If he's not into C7s or prefers a customized C5 to the C7, what's so wrong with that?

I don't have to share his opinion necessarily, but I can certainly respect it.

All Corvettes beat anything else America offers in the sports car world. I think that is something we can all agree upon.

I love Lambos too, but hey I am addicted to hot autos. Corvettes, Lambos, Porches, McLarens, Ferarris, Camaros, Trans Ams, Chevelle SS, Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V, you name it, I like em.

Just to mention. The C5 interior is so fisher price and cheap one color "old" GM cheap plastic fantastic with the factory legendary AC delco HU that was well in everything chevy from lumina's to trailblazers. I don't care for base anything.. Corvettes included. Only "Z" wide body cars with big hp and tires etc. JMO. I loved my C5Z but my C6Z is a totally different animal. The C7's are still having issues with this and that. The mags aren't goin gaga over them .. but "they" say the GS is the best C7 overall because the Z06 is a handful.. Really??? I thought they just overheat tracking them sometimes? ou can never have enough HP! Yeah.. if it had painted on stripes instead of decals and 200 more hp. A clean done up C5 ragtop with a motor or cam gets more looks than a C7 generally. Just wish they could of done more with the interior back then. Oh well, water under the bridge long time ago now.. We have a 100 base c7's here. All look the same... The C7 Z06 just stands out. Can't wait to see what the C7 ZR1 looks like and then the C8 Zora.. We should enjoy the NOW and not concern witht he what Gm will do with future Corvettes. It will be what it will be. I think a 04 Z16 Z still cool on the outside. Just wish it had at least a C6 interior or C7.

Interior 2 gen. difference ! YIKES! My C5Z drove nice. Wheels were too skinny, tranny and diff too weak. Engine not enough hp. Interior is cheap for at a time $50K US sports car.15 years ago it was cutting edge. Just saying from factory. I modded tons of stuff mostly all mechanical $$$$.. but it's nice to get a fairly expensive sports car that doesn't need an almost complete makeover? Makes you think you bought the wrong car right? Everything evolves. Drive what you can afford and what makes YOU happy. That's what I am doing.
