right in the middle of doing this right now... 1. pac springs are your friend.... 2. smith bros or strab makes a good bronze bushing trunion kit.. (you just need a bench vice a 7/8 and a 9/16 to press them out.) and finishing it up with evans coolant. and a steam vent kit....
I have a Feb 2003 build date '03 I am looking at, anyone have an idea if those springs might be yellow, and thus I have to factor that into my plans (to replace that is).

Read #15 post to see what color springs are in your car.

I think you will have to take a peek down through the oil filler witha flashlight to be able to tell what color they are. A borescope would make it easier but one spring can be seen without one. Or maybe a small inspection mirror would fit down through the filler hole.
How many miles are the replacement blue springs good for? My LS6 out of the 01' Z06 is getting a light refresh before it goes into our 944turbo.
I have read that when running a larger cam, valve springs should be treated as a wear item similar to tires. So I have read that 25 or 30K miles is a good rule of thumb. Considering that the factory Z06 cam is not a big cam, I would think 100K would be fine. But I don't think it is a bad idea to change them more often. It's only $70 for a set of stock springs a couple of hours of your time to keep the valve train tip top.
I just got my intake and exhaust seals. They look exactly the same with a different part number.
Is is there a difference between them?
What brand of seals? I used Felpro when I did mine and the rubber gasket part was black and brown. Can't remember which is for what. The metal part was a coated brown.

Thanks, makes it a no brainer while you doing it thing. Heads should be gone though anyway, motor came out of my car with a 110k running strong, but quite of bit of track time. I bought it with 60k and no history on the car.
