2K2wranglerx, that was a great read-through of your excursions into Corvette ownership/modding mania! Thank you for taking the time to record your progress and share your passion with us for the last year! I , too, sold a 2005 Mustang to buy my Vette, and the picture you posted of your two together hit home for me; I sold it to a neighbor, and just caught sight of it in his driveway the other day. For a moment, I wished I hadn't sold the car, but then, I realized that I had indeed made the better choice in buying the Vette. I like driving it, as opposed to man-handling the Mustang and its rear-end-hopping glory!
I look forward to reading more of your endeavors, and you have given me more confidence to attempt more ambitious mods right in my own garage!
alright rear diffuser has shipped! Pete let me know they're not perfect. they need some trimming. I could have waited for them to fix it but honestly, i saw one of the ones that needed trimmed and i was ok with how they look. I'm stoked!!!! Should be here monday and i'll get some video of it.
just as a disclaimer though, i'm 100% aware it will not be perfect. That i'll have to play with it for fitment. I had the option of waiting for those issues to be worked out but decided to go ahead with the diffuser anyway. That's 100% my choice and on me and doesn't reflect Carbon creations customer service. they were very up front with the issues they're having with the company that's making them.
Interested in your feedback on the C5 Lux tranny mount.
*How much noise/vibration is it adding?
*Do you notice any positives (vs. the stocker) on hard accelleration and or burnouts?
Thanks!
NVH wise, you can definitely hear anything going on in the rear end at cruise now. but it's not bad. i just notice. also at start up you can feel the starter. other than that i don't really have anything negative to say about it. Seems solid for the $.

Thanks for the response. Did it solve/help any annoying characteristics of the car the you were trying to remedy? i.e. drivetrain movement/wheel hop etc?

my car never really had any wheel hop. But i'm also pretty low on coilovers. I put that in because i did solid rubber front mounts. i'm eventually going to swap those over to metal ones.
I'm just a big fan of having the engine in there solid... The rear was looking pretty crispy when i swapped it for the lux. that's honestly the only reason i did it.
What heads are you pairing with the Stage 3? Any reason you went stage 3 over 2?
I put a stage 2 in my car with ported 243 heads...and sometimes think even that cam is too big.
You'll LOVE the 4.10's. That's the best mod you can do to these things.
For right now i'm just going to rock it with the stock ls1 heads. Down the road i'll look at doing bigger heads/intake but for now i'm not taking the heads off.
I got talked into the stage 3 by my tuner... and pretty much everyone lol. It's not a car that gets a lot of miles. And i have a pretty high tolerance for NVH... So i guess we'll see how it is lol.
