there's no real "history" with the car. Im the original owner. Most of the work was done while the front of the motor was taken off to replace the harmonic balancer....as preventative and/or "while I was in there" ie wanting to save labor costs down the road. I really dont like putting 20+ year old parts back on to a car when they are already taken off taking into consideration how cheap OEM GM parts are using Rockauto.com. I certainly wouldnt have done all that replacement spending dealer/retail prices.

thanks for the input but that is extremely low. You need to check out the corvette market right now. prices would surprise you. Friend of mine just bought an 01 manual with 52k for $22k.

Assuming the car needs absolutely nothing, no matter your advertised price I'm thinking $20k minus anything I can see that needs repair. I'd be pretty happy to get you down to $18k
(personally I'd be looking for a 03-04 and would give a little higher price accordingly)
I agree. 03 is the car to buy....personally, I dont like the 04 with the C6 fuel system set up.

All of our cars are different, but most of the things done to my car are very typical with C5's (EBCM, radiator leaks, water pump leaks, harmonic balancer, brakes, fluids). the other items arent necessary components that failed but rather preventative/"while youre in there" type repairs. If the components are off of the car for the harmonic balancer, I decided to change them rather than put on 20+ year old parts back on to the car.

Regardless, I wish you GLWS!
Yea, I subscribe heavily to the "while you are in there" mentality. If the front of the motor is off for the H/B is best to replace relatively inexpensive wear/tear parts and save money in the long run on labor.

Good grief you've maintained that car well. But, it's worth what it's worth.
Here's what i tell people about buying and selling anything...."It's worth what someone will pay for it"......btw, i did not make that up, i'm not smart enough to have made that up...i just read it somewhere and liked the saying because it sorta made sense...

thanks. But that’s not really a definition of what’s something is worth. A car is worth a comp sale. Was hoping someone had some specific knowledge of a similar recent sale of like kind. But hey, appreciate your help. You should stop giving that terrible advice! jkjk. Thanks for the help.

thanks! Appreciate the link. Something has to be up with that car…..that car sold for well under market. Either a rebuilt title or someone looking to get out of the car extremely fast. Someone stole that amazing car! That’s def a one off.

My guess is that the owner sold it for what the dealer was offering on trade including the tax savings plus a few bucks. They valued the convenience of trading in over a couple thousand more.

I think you're between $18K - $21K. The market is strong right now. Yes, it's 1 owner. Yes, it's been well cared for. Yes, it's an A6. Yes, it's in a good color. However, it is a coup, which is worth less than a convertible or a Z06. The real bottom line though, is that is has 70K+ miles on it. While that is not one of the main indicators of how reliable a C5 is, it is one of the main indicators when determining value. This is assuming the car is in pristine condition. Given that the OP STILL has not posted any pics of the car, it's harder to give a good answer to this.

Maybe to you it's not but to me it is the bottom line.

That still wouldn't be an accurate way to find out value...too many variables in exact condition for comparison...but keep guessing, maybe just go buy a lotto ticket...or a crystal ball

I'm assuming that the interior and exterior are in great condition. In today's inflated used car market, I'd ask at least $25K for it and expect to accept less. Why are you selling it, it sounds like you love the car?

15 K ???? sorry I couldn't disagree more. My buddy's '99 with over 100,000 on the clock was recently totaled in super storm Ida and his Ins Co wrote him a check for 15k !

Given what the Op has outlined and being the original owner I say start 20-25k. if the pics prove the car to be as nice as stated he should get 20k + or -

I can find C5 base coupes for $20k with 20-30k miles, and probably have room to negotiate.

That being said, what would I pay for an example with 72k miles if cars mentioned above are available and on the market? Probably $15k.

If low mileage cars were not on the market, or if they were listing for considerably more, then probably $16 to $18k.

I suggest looking at sites like cars.com and cargurus.com and search a radius of 100 miles to see what's selling in your area. I'd determine a price depending on how quickly you want to sell the car. Pricing and availability may change dramatically over the next few months. The dead of the winter seems to be the time to bargain shop.

If your definition was correct, sellers would list the car’s price as “Whatever you are willing to pay.” LOL. Not exactly how markets work. But I appreciate your assistance. Thanks !!!

can you please let me know what manual coupes 01 and Up you are seeing with 20k miles for $20k? I’d like to see the links. I have several friends looking for those cars.

your experience is more in line with what I’m seeing in the market.
