I listed it at $29,999. Similar c5 is probably worth $20k, but I have about $25k in receipts. I def lost money.
depends how you look at it, for me there is always the 'intrinsic' value that has to be taken into consideration. I have never looked at my toys as financial investments

Good thing that you did not take the lowballer advice in this thread...
Looks like I gave you some decent advice from the getgo... "Sounds like you almost have a new Vette. That would be a nice Vette for someone looking for one that has been pretty much refurbished...
PS... I think with all the stuff you have done, you should be able to sell it for way more than a regular 70K similar Vette"
Sorry - just me but I would of never paid that much and would rather move for a ultra low mile garage queen C5 or C6/other. Hope the new owner keeps the car forever since he will most likely not get the value again. I’d even be cautious buying a multi replaced part car with “just changing things for the hell of it” and develop other issues - ie leaks etc. whatever just not for me 🤷🏻♂️
Sold this afternoon for $27,350. Thanks for all your input! Picking up my c6zr1 tomorrow morning.
I would still like to see pictures of your $27K, 72K mile C5. Even though your car sounds very nice and well maintained, you got very lucky with that selling price. Even C5 Coupes with HRE wheels, MCM hoods and Big Brakes or C6Z brakes do not sell that high. That is the most I ever saw a stock meticulously cared for C5 coupe sell for with over 50K miles let alone 72K miles in the past 10 years.
Congrats on getting a C6 ZR1. They are selling for very strong numbers currently. Post some pictures of your C6 ZR1 as well.
that’s extremely high for 2015! Probably was more worth $12k back then.
In early 2015 I was offered $18K for my '99 C5 Black Coupe with manual trans, 2 roofs, F45 and every option offered. I also had HRE 545's, Magnaflow exhaust, new tires and a clear bra on it. Car was absolutely mint and a 9.9 out of 10 inside and out with a clear title and no paintwork. I turned it down and probably shouldn't have.

this is very hard to believe that he got 27k plus for high mile 01 coupe that needed excessive repairs and all those part replacements,
I had a few C5s and never replaced anything , very solid cars if cared for

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. You’ve added value to this thread. I hope we meet at a corvette show. You seem really nice. Thanks!

Go back and read the thread. Most was replaced in an abundance of caution. That aside, the parts replaced are literally the most common part failures on C5’s. Just do some more research. We are here to help you!

99 is far less desirable c5 and sells for far less numbers than 01+. Just too many problems with those early cars with parts that are unobtanium. (Ie ebcm unrepairable and swps can’t purchase).

I owned my '99 for nearly 14 years and it was rock solid. Other than 2 window regulators and a clutch master cylinder all I did was regular maintenance. My wife and I owned several C5's from '98-'02 and the 2 '99s were the best of them, followed by the '02 Z06. The '01's were oil burners and notorious for leaky diffs, two expensive problems. The 04's have the dual gas tank issue which is a very expensive fix. After nearly 20 years since the last C5 was produced there is very little difference in the desirability of any C5 unless it's a Z06 or '98 Pace Car or if it has a manual transmission.as long as it is a well-maintained car with a clear title.
actually, had two buyers at $28,750, but they wanted inspections. $27,350 was sight unseen. So the car was actually worth more than what someone paid in this case. Lol.
but yeah, these price suggestions on this thread are well below market value. Your average manual c5 goes for $16-20k. Well maintained one owner is $25k.
I think that's awesome that you listed your 2001 Coupe with 72K miles for $29,999 and immediately received 2 offers for $28,750 but accepted a sight unseen offer for $27,350!
Congrats!
all great cars! My buyer really likes the book of $31k in receipts I had in the last 3 years. My loss. His gain!
$31K in receipts? That's pretty high. AC compressor, condenser, freon with labor around $1,900, Balancer with bolt, belts and labor around $1,000, add $300-$500 for water pump and pulleys. Brake rotors pads powder coating and labor around $1,200. Sway bars, end links, bushings and labor around $400. Fluids. plugs, wire and labor around $400. Headlight motors replaced around $350. How do you get to $31K?
All of these things are very common repairs made on any C5 for sale with around your mileage, although my "99 did not have these issues. BTW, the 2000-2001 C5's had the most expensive problems of that generation followed by the 2004.

Any pictures of your 2001 and C6 ZR1?
You’re way off with all of your numbers. $1000 balancer replacement? Lol. The ATI was $500 alone. Come on man! Also, you’re way too high with the ac replacement. But hey, how about you try to go through the list and for every guess you get right I’ll post the receipt. LOL. Moreover, the list posted is about 1/8 of the actual list. That’s how I got to $31k. New NOS clear top and new NOS painted top was $5k alone. Try and keep up with me!
