Hi needhlp -
A good friend of mine (hi Ren) owned one of these "special edition" cars -
It was peppy - and it behaved like a v8 (not a really strong one, but..) on the highway.
Seems I remember Ren telling me that the car was a test platform for this engine/trans combination prior to the 3000's the next year. It had a little plackard on the console stating the limited production or something to that effect.
Nice, but dated. Ren put 100k miles on it and then bought a 500SL.
The one in the ebay ad may well be a screamer, looks like a quality job from the pics anyway -
I think I'll keep my Z06.

6 reasons the Mitsu is better than the ZO6:
1. Nobody will ever accuse you of buying it as part of your mid-life crisis.
2. It has twice as many doors - Means you have twice the opportunity for escape should anyone you care about sees you in it.

I emailed this guy about his car- and he emailed me back today and told me that if I emailed him again he was going to file Harrasment charges :lol: :rofl: He told me he worked for the US Justice Department :rofl: All I did was say that unless the Z06 was going in reverse the did not have a chance- needless to say he did not take it to well- some people just dont have a sence of humor :lol: Anyway I emailed him again and told him I was reporting him to ebay- I think his claims are bs personally.

Having my orginal racing roots in a Mitsubishi AWD turbo I know the capabilities. I'll pose this question...Who will win a street race? A Corvette Z06 that runs 12.0s in the 1/4 or a Galant that runs 12.0s in the quarter? A 12 sec galant will punish a 12 sec Z06 on the street from a stop light every day including sunday. Not all imports are hondas that run 14 sec Et's.

He is talking about launch. The AWD car can launch just as well on the street as he can at the track. The rwd ZO6, most likely, can not lauch as good on the street as he can at the track. Thus the AWD car will have the edge on the street given equal track 1/4 times.

Some people fail to realize, that a Z06 can be beat by a smaller displacement motor, lighter car, or just an import car period. This I think is their biggest fear. As posted here dozens of times with an mr2 these motors are just as capable as well as the 4g63. These by far are the strongest motors in the import scene besides 2jz, capable of 500 plus on thier stock blocks. Just watch JGTC on speedvision and see what motors the supra's are running in their cars(3sgte) the mr2 motor, making 600 plus hp. Also an mr2 can easily out launch a Z06 from a dead stop. In regards to other post criticizing the galant, if I where a Z06 owner I would be kind of embarresed that a 4 door family car can whoop my as with minor bolt ons.

I'd be embarrassed if my spelling was as bad as yours!! Any POS car can be made to be as fast as a stock Z06, all it takes is money.... but it will still be a POS. Put the same type "mod" into the Z06 and you're back to square one.
