Nice mustang- what do you run? I have a 01 Gt with a SHM short block, cam, and vortech running high 10's on et streets- looks pretty stock-except the sound:) Look at my website for pics. I have some on there along with the Z- but its with the stock wheels/tires. Mustangs arent junk- there not in the same league as the Z as far as total pkg- but they can be made quick and look pretty good. I have two of the quickest cars in my hometown. Infact, I only lost 1 race EVER in my GT and that was to a modded out 90LX 5.0- he ran mid 10's all motor.
Dave, i have a few questions about your LPE supercharger. I know this probrobly isnt the rite section but oh well. First do you have any pics you could send me of your SC? Did you have it installed at the Indiana location, if so how would you rate the service? Did they take good care of your car (no scratches, everything perfect, the way you would want it? And most importantly was it worth the cash? Did the power supprise you, and how much did you gain? Thanks i know it's alot of questions but i have been looking for somebody to ask these questions because i was wondering how well you get treated for the 7-8K you invested! :cheers:
just came across this site depicting a stock jspec mr2 running low 5's high 4's 0-60 almost right up there with a stock z06, also faster than cosworth or m3. Just thought I would bring this up. I think the mr2 is the fastest 4 cyl. ever built, mid to low 13.s stock. Hmmm be pretty close with a downpipe, exhaust, intake and boost controller wouldn't you say for under a grand.

Low 5's, high 4's is not competitive with a stock Z06 (which is rated at 3.9 0-60). Without powershifting, etc., 4.1-4.5 is common for the stock Z06.
Stock MR2 mid to low 13's stock? Not full production stock.
Road and Track tested 4.7 0-60, thats where I say this at. As posted in the site, this is detuned. They are posted 245hp, but have dynoed higher. I've seen 13.3 from a jspec 2 so the times aren't that different from the porshe. How hard do you think it would be to obtain a .3 with a couple of bolt on's. This is still impressive for a stock 4, over a second faster than any other import out there and I think faster than a stock supra. But still isn't as fast a z06 though. With over 150 hp more than the 2 i think the times r more than respectable.
You're right: a 1700lb 200HP car (Lotus Elise) is quite fast (0-60 in 4.4 and 1/4 mile in 12.6 @ 110, probably not legal for sale in the US due to crash safety, though), faster than the MR2, but still not as fast as a Z06 (0-60 in 3.9, 1/4 mile mid to high 11's, stock+good driver).

Dodge Viper, Porsche GT2, Ferrari 575M, Saleen S7, Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari Enzo.

Question for everyone: say the Z06 was built by toyota and imported as the exact same car would you still drive it assuming every previous generation corvette was made by toyota as well?

So whats your point? To me the Z06 is not an attractive car. Yea it's the best looking AMERICAN today but most of the styling can be contributed to Japanese or European styling. The butt of the car is to huge to compliment the body. And there is no technology in the car either, utilizing the same ohv that they been using for years. And to take a 1990 4 dour 4 cyl.and push it to power levels exceeding the vette with minor bolt on's on a stock block is impressive. If a 13 year old car can do this what does this say about your cars with 3 times the liter and twice the displacement makes you wonder HEY? Another point, the lancer is coming down wit 280 hp all wheel drive and 280 torque utilizing the same motor as the galant. These cars run high 12's stock low 13's stock so with a good launch and an experienced driver these cars are capable of beating you stock.
