[Z06] c6 boooooooooo

C6 just isn't growing on me
I like the back end fine, except for the goofy design of the back up lights. It looks like a mid 90's set of GMC truck fog lights to me. What were they thinking?
I like the headlights all right. I don't however like the nose and lower part of the grille. The grille and the fog/driving light area remind me of a Cavalier for some reason. I really hope that they fix this on the Z06.
I also don't like the lines of the hood. The lines remind me of the hood on the 80-82 C3 and I was never fond of that hood. It just doesn't look masculine enough to me. Once again, I hope that they fix this with the Z06.
To fix the C6 and make it the way I'd like it, GM would have to fix the hood, the nose piece, the lower rear end by the back up lights and then make it an FRC bodystyle. I don't like the hatch rear, especially with the shortened back end. It looks a little sawed off to me. Something just doesn't look right with the fastback glass.

The car looks mentally challenged from the front, and the back... heh... looks like somebody just rear ended my C5 and all the stuff went upwards on the accident... the backup lights... with the plastic 'diffuser' makes the car look cheap, and what about the Y pipe for the fake twin tip mufflers? :-? what is that?? looks like yet another cheap ricer twin tip setup...(available at wal-mart for ~10 bucks) and GM should not mention the excuse it was to save weight... when it was actually save money (you know, drilling two holes is more expensive than drilling just one!!)
Besides, the C6 was actually designed back in 1997 and is really called C5.... and for that, you could say that the C6 (or C5.5a) is the pinnacle of 'maximun output with minimal input' They invested a few bucks on this one and it'll sell like hot pancakes: its a new Corvette and almost everybody wants to have the latest Corvette toy.
The good thing for GM is that this one sells for more than the previous C5 did and it costed them a lot less to make...

I have seen many C6's. One was heading the other direction on the interstate the other day. I barely noticed it. However, anytime a C5 goes by, I get this huge smile on my face and watch it drive out of site, checking for any mods that might be visible..yea, I'm definintely a C5 bigot....
I think the C6 is probably what we should've got in 1997. Just a bit more radical than the C5. Crisp lines, more pronounced bulges in the right places. The thing that bothers me the most is that it looks like it's either slightly taller or slightly narrower. Doesn't quite have the same aspect ratio as the C5.
I agree there are a lot of points about the C6 that don't appeal to me at the moment but I'm sure that once I've been around them a bit more, it'll grow on me just like the C5 did. But then again, maybe not. Time will tell. Don't be too critical right now because you may end up eating your words later.

Actually I don't recall that reaction at all for the C5, in fact it was praised all over by the Corvette community and the media. People loved it from the early spy shots all the way to the day the last C5 rolled off the assembly line. The C6 has not received anywhere NEAR the amount of positive responses that the C5 did when it was introduced, most people dislike it very much and the few that seem to like it tell everyone else to wait and see if it grows on them. I loved the C5 from the first time I saw one, I didn't have to wait for it to grow on me, most others were the same way.
The C6 doesn't even compare to the C5 in terms of looks.

I liked the C5 the very 1st time I saw one, back in 1997... The C6, well, I was hoping it was gonna be awesome, I really wanted to like it, but nothing, no spark, nada... instead, GM teached us a real good lesson on how to increase revenue by minimizing expenses.
The C6 is a C5 with tweaked internals and the ugliest of all generation bodies. Man, The C4 was the least favorite on my book, now we have a new winner...
As somebody said, the C6 should've been made instead of the C5, and I would've not minded that if the C6 would've been the C5 in terms of looks... I would've been drooling all over one at this very moment. But reality is, C5 is now history while the C6 just began making history (for good or for bad).

The look of the C6 didn't have to grow on me- I loved it from the first second I saw it. Like I said- my opinion.
