I'm 29 and I got my vette when I was 26. If you can afford it, go for it!!! Why wait until you're old and grey?? As long as you can afford it and still live comfortably, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, are responsible enough to own one, then go for it. You won't regret it.

The one thing I would caution you about is the insurance. Make sure you find out everything possible about how much it will cost you and if you can afford it both now and if and when you get a speeding ticket.

IMO anyone without a good 3-4 years of driving experience has no business behind the wheel of a corvette or any Rwd car with over 300 horsepower.

25 and paid for my Z06 in full

21 here, just got my 01 MY vert with 22K and Mallett upgrades this week. I have been looking for nearly a year for the right car and price and finally found this one. When the weather gets nicer around here I will post pics and a full description.

I'm 19 and I have a 97, black on black.

I had a bright red supercharged saleen mustang with an o/r h-pipe and much more, but after a few days drivign my vette, I have had more looks than I ever had in my mustang. A lot of angry looks too, o well.

Bought my 98 coupe almost 2 years ago when I was 23. Saved up enough cash to afford it and love every minute of being a Corvette owner.

Why are so many older people so negative towards young vette drivers. I guess instead of buying a car that I wanted all my life, I should've bought a bunch of drugs or something. Same thing at work, all the managers give me a hard time about it. But if I was driving a brand new Honda Accord (which is pretty much what my 98 cost me) I bet no one would be saying ****.

Thanks
-Kam

PS: Please dont give me all that stuff about not being experienced or anything cause there are reasons my parents are allowing this. I am responsible and provin` myself. I worked since I was 15 and have money saved up.
i am 21 and getting one in a few weeks

I'm 24 and got my '00 Yellow C5 Coupe when I was 23 (4 months ago). Within the first 30 days of owning the car I got pulled over for going 63mph in a 40mph and the cop gave me a warning

I say if you can afford it go for it! I'm gonna be making payments for the next 3yrs (at least) but what do I care it's a blast to drive and was worth every penny!

21 here
ough my silver convertible when I got out of college
I drove beaterass camaros and rice rockets through college and then decided to go for the real car when i got out
My mom is still pissed at me for laying down 10 LARGE on a down payment.

says i should be buying a house.

no cosigner so i guess noone can be pissed but me

I skipped 2 years in highschool and got into college at 16 so I could have my vette at a young age

Insurance isnt that bad because most peoplethat can afford to buy corvettes dont wreck them

at least for me insurance was cheaper for a 98 convertible vette and an 01 z28 and cheaper than a 96 v6 camaro

you figure it out cause i still havent
i have full coverage on 3 cars and i pay 150 a month with 500 deduct and 100/300 coverage for all cars plus renters insurance
with allsate

I hear ya! I've been paying for my '02 Z28 since I was 20 (I'm 23 now) but I'm considering upgrading my Z28 for a Z06, so I'll be back in that boat for a few years again!

Funny thing is about insurance, it's about $100 or $200 CHEAPER per year for a C5 than it is for my Z28!!!

I just don't know if I feel like doubling my current car loan though?! But a Z06 would be sooooo worth it!!!

Well, I am glad there are a lot of young folks. Tired of hearing Corvette are for the more older people. Prices are nice and decent and great for looks and modding.

Thanks for all the responses!

Also, for the insurance...Im going to be honest, I am gonna have it like under my like family insurance but I still can be able to drive it. He didnt really explain it but he said it is cheaper and much better.

And I had to earn all of it.

I am 18 and get stuff like that a lot, especially(sp) when I go to hang out with my friends and their Hondas. But you get used to it.
