Younger Corvette Owners
but i am 18. i dont work except during the summer, only reason i dont work is because i play full time varsity sports at my school, i have 2 weeks in the whole school year of not being in a varsity sport. have made MVP for soccer 3 years in a row, and 2 years in a row in baseball. i also swim on the team only as training for soccer and baseball. my mods for the car i use money from birthday and christmas, and selling my truck that i drive in the rain
all my friends are importers (bite my tounge) but the looks are unforgetable from the hot chicks (getting slapped by my gf next to me as i smile back to the hot chicks) to the, no offense, old fogies dropping their dentures and waving their hands at me. for chrismas my gf bought me a rocky mountain radar scrambler and they guarentee no tickets and if you get one they pay for it, and so far ive gone past a cop when the radar went off saying i was being scanned going 50 in a 35 (just to test it) and the cop just watched me go by! recommed it! take care!
Well...call it jealousy if you like...but if you're not buying it, you're not really going to appreciate it the same. I bought my first when I was 22...paid cash for it. It was 10 years old at the time, but it was a Corvette and I was very happy to have it. There was a lot of pride that came from earning the money to buy it.
Either way, best of luck!

I guess instead of buying a car that I wanted all my life, I should've bought a bunch of drugs or something. Same thing at work, all the managers give me a hard time about it. But if I was driving a brand new Honda Accord (which is pretty much what my 98 cost me) I bet no one would be saying ****.
Personally, I'm glad that young guys are committed to keeping the Corvette tradition alive and well. It speaks well of the car and bodes well for the future.
As one of the "older" people you refer to (53) I think that many of us, not all, but at least a few, have had to wait until houses were paid for and kids cared for and educated before we had enough discretionary $$ to pay for a Corvette. That's why a few older guys may feel just a tiny tinge of resentment towards you young ones for being able to drive such a car at such a young age... many of us had to wait a looong time.
Some of the people you work with may be in the process of supporting families right now and at this point just can't afford a Vette. Or they can't put all the people in it they need to haul around town. They may be in their 25-30 year "waiting period."
Now you go out and enjoy that car and appreciate it. And don't worry about what anybody says about it.
Peace.
I will just curious how many of the younger corvette owners there is out there? I am 18 right now but prices are low that I could afford it and not have my parents help much at all. Mostly from the 18 - 25 range. If your one of those people check in!!! Curious person

Thanks

PS: Please dont give me all that stuff about not being experienced or anything cause there are reasons my parents are allowing this. I am responsible and provin` myself. I worked since I was 15 and have money saved up.
I have shoes older than 25! I got my first vette at 21, a brand new 1970 vert, and yes my dad did buy it for me. 34 years later I still drive a vette, but my dad only bought the first one!
Welcome to the club...live well!

Well, 1 wife, 2 kids, 2 sets of braces ('cause I think the dentist wanted a Corvette too) 2 minivans and one station later I finally got my vette.
But I wanted one at 17. Does that count?

From one old "Bastidge" to another.... Now that is some funny chit
