Default Cam and heads

Can anyone recommend a good head and cam package to get my 03 vert to 450hp at the flywheel and have good driveability ? I have a vararam and corsa w/x-pipe.

Where are you located? Doing the work yourself, or someone to do the installation? The goal is easily achieved.

This is a very important mod. Is it a 6 speed or auto? How do you drive it, and how often. Is it daily driven in traffic, highway or weekend cruser, or driven hard. Do you drag or road race it at all. Any future mod plans? The more info you give out the better info you will get. Good luck

You don't need a snotty cam to get good numbers out of AFR heads. You can get the AFR heads from any number of Supporting Vendors. ECS comes to mind. Figure $2,200 or so for the heads and $300-400 for the cam.

Decide how you drive you car where you want more power top end or low end.
Some power adder combinations can cause drivability issues.

Because some people need to drive their cars.

Cam choice is like religion what suits one person is not right for another.

I went for the budget Patriot Heads & Cam and with the money I saved I got a new clutch to handle the power. I'm quite happy with mine. Only regret I have is that I didn't put an underdrive pulley on while I was at it - that would have probably added 10hp or so for only a couple of hundred bucks while it was apart.

Here's a link to my write up. I've gotten very used to driving a H/C car, it's not the same as stock, but wow is it great above 3k.
