how'd you do that?

Anyway, we need to know what the distance the bung is from the tab, so center or bottom of the bung doesn't matter, as long as we're all on the same page.

Just make sure you measure straight up and not at an angle ya know?

Thanx Rain!

I Q'd Lightfighter also, so hopefully he'll let us know when and what he got...

I finally got a response yesterday or it was some kind of a response from SS. They asked me for info about my order an my problem and wanted pics. Prob is when I emailed them about this I sent them all the info they had sent me about my order and included pics. Its really confusing right now and still not got a response yet.

That's not unusual, it's like they have individual offices all over which are linked via the same network and EMail server, and no one knows what the other offices are doing.

FYI I've already done this, as posted earlier. They've asked me to get Stocker's original set and have them modified to be perfect. Then they will be shipped back to SSAC to be used as a Template on future sets.

And then I'm bowing out of this I think, it's taking up too much of my damn time!

Like Tom Cruise said I would tell them to Show Me The Money! You have done alot of work for free for them already. I was thinking if they would send me a replacement for mine when I eventualy do heads on mine I would swap it out then.

Well they did give me my Headers for free... I really don't mind at all helping "us" (Vette owners) out and especially for something that is this good of a deal. I'm starting feel like the monkey in the middle though,

OK there I vented!

I'll ask em about sending you a new set...

Although you might want to wait to see the outcome of my mock-up fabrication...

Just a thought...

Rain and Philsy can you guys do a measurement from the bung to the tab so we can use that as a baseline in the future? Well I guess Philsy already has huh?

Here are a couple of options;

1. I'm thinking that if anyone gets the goofed up set, they should plug the original bung and weld a new one in in the proper location and be done with it... That is probably what I will end up doing, I'm not going to rip all this stuff out agian!

2. Another option would be to plug the Header Bungs and get the Cats w/bungs then weld in an additional bung on the other side of the Cats ie two bungs on each Cat input and output...

They've asked me to take Stocker's original set and have them re-worked at a local Fab shop here and send em back to them to be used as a template for future sets. This SHOULD correct these fittment issues once and for all!

Give me some inputs before I start this...

I wonder if we shouldn't locate the bungs on the top side of the Headers, sticking up towards the hood, then we wouldn't have to unclip the O2 harnesses...

I also want them to add the AIR tubes back on the Headers, but they need to be a "one location fits all years"... Maybe bridge the Passenger's rear two primaries and put the flange in between them????

I'm not sure if I'll be able to relocate the primary that's hitting the AC line or not...

OH! Stocker I need your Headers and A.I.R. Tubes!
WOW! WOW ! WOW!

Please! let me know when all is done and said and then i will order mine!

you guys are amazing!

Not really winter is my slow season and I'm bored, Plus I have a pretty wicked sleep disorder! These other guys are really putting out an effort!

Yeah I hear ya! No telling how long the mock-up and third design production will take... Of course then they have the current stock to worry about... hmmmm Wonder if they would sell those at a reduced price? Hell, I might buy another set if they do reduce the price!

Yes they do look good, but I think the Passenger side is still turned towards the outside a wee bit and I want them to add the A.I.R. Tubes.

No one seems to want to give me any input so I'll just fix what I know are issues...

I'm going to ask them to take care of you...

I'm anxious to see how Rain's install goes. I'm fairly confident he'll ahve the whole thing in and running in four hours!

If he ever gets any sleep that is!

ok - its all out
had to remove Alt. to get drivers side out.
pass side came out bottom

im here to re read about the AIR tubes..

will it throw codes if I dont weld the AIR connectors on the new headers?

Can that be tuned out by a competent tuner shop?

Yeah it'll throw codes but will not affect the engine in anyway, just an annoyence. You could get them welded in later, but it would really REALLY be difficult if not impossible.

Abbsolutly get it tuned out and be done with it!

Now get back under there and throw those new shiny pipes on!!!!!!!!!!

picked up new plugs and wires

gonna do that while we have it all apart.

Had to remove alt., ground strap wire, and coil pack banks to get headers in from above.
Wont know for sure whether the pass side O2 sensor will clear until we bolt the headers up tight.

Will drive it up to the exhaust shop for the short pieces of stainless tomorrow afternoon.
