Reads like the cats are only good for about 322 cu in .......
we are pushing a few more than that..
Not sure I follow. 5.9 liters is about 360 cu. in., 322 cu. in. is about 5.4 liters. If you're running 6 liters (366 cu in) or above, it would be true that the cats are a limiting factor.
Put mine in tonight sorry no pics dont have a camera. took about 2 1/2 hours total from start to finish ... no problems with AC lines actually have about 1/2 to 3/4 inch clearance with out bending any lines I did have a problem with the mounting tabs but was corrected by inverting the mount O2 clearance is ok but marginal at best but should be fine. one other problem I did have but also was corrected easy was the two trans lines on the passenger side where they mount they where hitting the passenger side header, all I had to do was unbolt it and and relocated it to the long 10MM bolt directly under its stock mount...
thats all for now car sounds great but have not driven it yet.. its raining here hopefuly tomorrow it will be nice . and hopefully get it tuned by the week end.. last Saturday I put in a brand new 3.42 sp Z06 rear , Sunday a cold air intake and this morning painted the rotors and this evening the X pipe and headers. so a tune is defenitly in order.. thanks to everyone here for all the insite and help you gave me on making this all come together..
What did you guys do about your AIR system? I tuned all of it out today but still have the metal lines that run behind the motor and come out on both sides over the headers. I'd really like to figure out how to get them out of there!

I have version 1.0 -
Driver's side O2 was hitting bell housing mount.. had to put mount tab in a vise and hit with sledge.
Pass side was royal pain in the ****! O2 bung way way too high. with cheater pipe, 2x4 and two guys pulling, we BARELY got the mounting tab over the hole.. screw didnt want to go in
Its in, but i dont like it.
That TAB needs to be wider and the hole needs to be oval (Tim, please pass this along for the next revision)
If I didnt have a trip to Bowling Green this week to make, I would have requested the Version 2 headers.
We got it all in there but we spent 4 hours on Sunday and 4 tonight (we did replace plugs and wires- and we fabricated a mount for the oil dip stick)
Trying to think what other pitfalls we hit but Im too tired right now.
Will check AC lines and such tomorrow after shop puts stainless pipes on for me.

I left AIR system off too - no codes yet but we only fired it up in the garage.
Will tune out.. but yes, what to do about existing tubing.. one side flex, other side rigid.

Yeah I'd say it's raining all right!!!!! Good job BTW!!!! Congrats!
It's going to be like a whole new car to you after all those Mods!!!!
You might be the first A4 to do the install. No way to get pics of the trans cooler lines you referrenced??????
Driver's side O2 was hitting bell housing mount.. had to put mount tab in a vise and hit with sledge. OK, this is a new one! No one has had a problem with the Driver's side as of yet.
Pass side was royal pain in the ****! O2 bung way way too high. Is it hitting the Bellhousing? with cheater pipe, 2x4 and two guys pulling, we BARELY got the mounting tab over the hole.. screw didnt want to go in Its in, but i dont like it. Yeah this is common on the new and old versions, I'm going to have this fixed...
That TAB needs to be wider and the hole needs to be oval (Tim, please pass this along for the next revision) Agreed!!! I wonder if the Bellhousing mount can be loosened and slid over to help line it up and then bolted back in tight???
