Default A.i.r Pump

Looks like someone has disabled the A.I.R. pump judging from your pics. The plug is located about where the A.I.R. pump is on the drivers side frame and the Vacuum Line Looks like the one which should be connected to it.

Yep, the connector and the plastic vacuum line previously serviced the A.I.R. injection pump.

There is a Splice Pack ground connection in the front facia for that connection. ALL of the front facia light grounds go to the Splice Pack

If you look at the back of the SP you will see a bunch of small wires and one big wire. The big wire combines all of the wires together via a ground buss bar and the wire goes to G-101 or G-102 behind the headlight doors on top of the frame:

G101

G-102

You will need to disassemble the ground connectors:

Clean and check the grounds.

Thanks for all the info everyone! I'll take your advise and disassemble the ground pack and double check everything there.

What's the A.I.R. pump? Is it a problem that someone took it off mine!?

They work again!!!

I disassembled the ground pack per Bill's advice and cleaned the contact points. There were absolutely no signs of corrosion or bad contacts, so I just wiped them all down and re-assembled everything - VOILA! I can see again!

Thanks again everyone - you people are the best!

No, if it was de-installed properly (I used a large vacuum cap, slipped it over the end of the elbow, sealed with RTV vs. the bolt you have) then the owner did you a favor.. Have you had the car long enough for a smog check? As long as that passes and you don't have any A.I.R. system related codes, you are fine.

The A.I.R. system is designed to inject additional air into the exhaust upon initial start-up, forcing the cats to come up to temp more quickly. It only runs for about 30 seconds.

I've only had the car since September - but Indiana doesn't require inspections like most states so it isn't a problem and have never had any problems. Guess I won't worry about it.

Thanks
