Brackets are tightened on with 125 lb-ft with red loctite. You need a breaker bar and some ooommmmppphhh to get them off.

If you don't have a long enough breaker bar (I would also use the 1/2" drive socket), then attach a pipe at the end of the ratchet or bar as a cheater.

Make sure you use a wire brush or even better, a wire wheel, to clean the threads on the caliper bracket bolts that hold the bracket/caliper to the spindle. Mine were caked with LocTite. Better yet would be to use new bolts. I've had mine off several times and reuse the same bolts but I'll get new ones next time.

FYI, removing red loctite is much easier if heat has been applied, such as a few seconds with a portable propane torch.
