GM Performance Parts spark plug wires - kit contains 8 wires - kit is part number 12495519

100% CORRECT!!! You can NOT beat the price and wire quality of those wires! There the ABSOLUTE best wire for the money! PERIOD!

Purchase wires for QUALITY MATERIAL! Do NOT fall for the Horse power hype. There is NO performance gain in changing wires. If your old wires were bad, you will gain exactly what the old wires lost.

If I could find wires better than the GM Performance RED wires then I would buy them. So far, I have NOT!

Gene Culley has them for a VERY good price and he has excellent customer service!

I don't agree "wires are wires" I have the MSD's and Kool socks. I can't stand the wires. The connectors suck. I have had 2 wires go bad on me and knowing the connectors suck, I try and be careful with them and they still go bad. I will be trying another brand next round. You can darn sure feel a difference when you replace a defective wire! TR6 plugs gapped at .033 due to 10lbs boost on a Maggie

Bill you should note that you run Magnecore wires right?. I know you like the GM wires as I do for the money, but Magnecore builds a wire second to none. I believe you got your set in 99 correct? Don

yep, GM performance Red wires for me - they retained the stock heat shields and fit perfectly plus were cheaper than standard stock replacements. also I threw on a set of coolsox wire protectors since I have headers, seen too many people burn through them when unprotected...

You are ABSOLUTELY correct! I purchased them for my sick 98 Coupe when it would crap out and go into reduced power mode at the drop of a hat The EMI/RFI was so bad on the OEM Black wires that you couldn't listen to the AM radio. I thought that the EMI could have been effecting the PCM. So, at the time,,MAGNACORE's were advertised as the BEST EMI/RFI suppressive wires available. They were expensive but, I wanted to solve this issue. Well,,,it corrected the AM radio issue which means the wires were NO LONGER leaking but my problem still persisted. It turned out to be bad chassis grounds.

So, I purchased the wires in 2000 and have since sold the 98. Before I sold the 98, I swapped the OEM ZO6 wires on my 02 Z06 to the 98 and the MAGNACORE wires to the ZO6. There still on there and work EXCELLENT! Very good wires but,,,they cost a lot.

Now,,,,If my MAGNACORES evaporated today, I would call Gene Culley and have the GM Red Wires shipped out ASAP! There that good. They have very simular hardware as the magnacores and snap on and stay the plugs very well.

Oh,,,by the way,,my wifes 06 Z51 Coupe has OEM GM Performance Red Wires from the factory!

Thanks for reminding me to fess up on that point! Yes the MAGNACORES are very good wires. Expensive but, very good. They also have a lot more resistance per foot of wire than any other C5 wire Not that it makes that much difference for us.

Bill not busting your chops. I have read your posts over the years and remembered that you had them on your Z. I agree 100% with the GM wires thing. When or if ever the Magnecore's give up I will purchase them as well. See you thought nobody read all your posts Take care, Don

Hey,,,,,,,,,
Reading my post is a good thing and an honor. I just wish the new young (and sometimes old) forum members would. Ive explained some of the most basic stuff 1,327,350,427 times. Well at least it feels like it.

Good catch on the Magnacores! You have a memory like a bear trap!

Any gain that isn't more than the standard deviation (error) from dyno to dyno is worthless. Got the dyno sheet before/after?
