Has anyone done this or do you just run them to the bottom then put the heads on? Thanks
On the LS1, all holes are blind and no sealer required. I would assume your new block is the same, but verify with a flashlight first. ARP lube on the studs, then into the block hand tight.

Make 100% ABSOULTY,,,POSITIVELY SURE that the head bolts holes in the block are clean and DRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If there is any liquid in there, it can and will crack the block!!!!!!!

I used a nozzel with a long aluminum tube that I put all the way into the hole to the bottom of the hole. You will be amazed at what comes out !!!!

Great post for a TTT. I had to remove my head for some repairs and now I am reinatalling it for the second time. Good post to get the head bolt torque numbers again.

I had my doubts at first also but the heads fit easily over the studs. The studs method of fastening is cool!

Just kicking this back up to the top. I had to pull the drivers side head to have it repaired (coolant leak in the #1 cylinder runner due to a casting flaw)

I am SOOOOOO GLAD that I have the ARP HEAD STUDS. It made the head removal and reinstall SO much easier.

Patriot Performance stood by the defect and repaired the head.

If you are on the fence about installing the head studs, JUMP OFF and get them! There OUTSTANDING!

I dont have ALl the answers but I try to keep current. Some times you have to reach out for help in NEW unexplored areas.

Like my new SPEC Duel Disk clutch. I just called England Green and asked him for the presure plate torque specs.

30-35 ft/lbs

I broke my engine and just had it repaired this week. Rewelded the starter boss back on... Should have it running tomorrow and check for any weird vibrations before I reassemble the drivetrain.

Cant wait to drive it again
