I would not drive that car anywhere with the primary front O2 sensors not installed, the main purpose of those are to control your air/fuel mixture....you could lose a motor that way!

He's in no danger of losing a motor...but sure wasting Much-o, Gas-o!!

You'll notice a seat of the pants difference with the headers installed, but you'll not get the real gains until the car is tuned..

As a side note for ANYONE doing a header system..this one or another...This is the Absolute BEST time to put in a insulated tunnel plate while the exhaust is off the car, Trust me, the car will be MUCH cooler when you get that heat out of the chassis tunnel area...plus, it will stiffen up the chassis a great deal and make the car feel sooooo much better!

Don't forget the fun part...thicker tunnel plates can interfere with the rear O2's on some header systems..

Who uses rear o2's anyways? 99% of the time they get deleted or tuned out so that shouldn't be a big deal.

It took me a long time to get the motor looking like that!! It gives the car a one off, custom look! A great conversation piece Seriously though I am embarrased it is so dirty! Funny thing is I detail the outside of the car weekly. Any advice on cleaning under the hood besides pressure washing it? I had a 96 Dodge Ram and the one time I pressure washed the engine, I got the distributor wet and had to limp her home. A box fan and a few hours later the truck ran fine.

As a 'heads up' on chrome/SS headers... If you spray the inside of the header tubes (tape off the flange) with several coats of High Temp (1500 deg) WHITE paint, it will help in keeping them from discoloring. It's a trick we used on motorcycle pipes for years.

did you install the O2 sensors? Make sure they are not crossed (the rear ones) this would cause your issues...

Make sure you didn't cross the front ones, it's easy to do... Also if you removed the ground strap on the driver's side of the block make sure you reinstalled it...

Hey Blake,

I am betting the plugs/wires are bad. When I first started my car after installing the headers my car idled fine...at speed you could tell it needed a tune, but no backfiring etc. Good Luck

i was thinkin of goin with rksport headers....and every1 was knockin me in a past thread because they never heard of them or they dont know any1 that has used them. and i mean these headers are 900$ headers without an x pipe
http://www.rksport.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=785
so people on this forum will jump on your case if you try to save money in any way or go in a different route.
I didnt buy those headers b/c ive been hearing about the obx and lookin around for some good used ones...which are just as good.
All that matters is that you like it and the best part is they worked for you. Im not a person that would buy *** parts for an American car....but it doesnt matter....
congratulations

People that post up about these type of 'unknown brands' usually are ASKING what others think of them when they post up...but what they are 'really' wanting is everyone to endorse them and tell them to go for it...and when the people DON'T endorse the 'unknown brand', they then start defending their choice...usually because they have already bought them.

It's your car, put whatever you want to put on it...what do you, or ANYONE else for that matter, care about what 'others' think of your choice?...YOU have to live with it, not them. Life's wayyyy to short to spend it trying to please everyone else.

Now, Go order REAL Headers, not those cheapies...

What an idiot you are, you can't see the humor of what I was saying?? I don't CARE what Headers or Heads or even what GAS you run in YOUR car...You think your Dyno #'s mean squat to me???

You MIGHT want to try re-reading what I said...it says...Do whatever YOU like, quit worrying about what others think...

I took offense to this as I posted the thread...I shared my personal experience to let others know that there are other options out there. I do not like naysayers who voice opinions w/o the facts.

"Now, Go order REAL Headers, not those cheapies..."

I had no idea my headers weren't REAL!

I'm sorry dim-bulb...I can see you do NOT understand what 'smilies' mean...The laughing 'smilie' immediately following the comment was indicative of it being a comment NOT to be taken seriously, ie: headers are headers and you do NOT have to pay $1800. to get good ones....you need to stop taking yourself soooooo seriously. Gheez, I guess you beat your kids for laughing in the playground, or giggling in church too? It's called HUMOR, but I can see you don't understand that concept.

Key words/phrases in my comment you need to re-analyze: usually(11th word), and then this paragraph, of which you seem to have totally skipped: "It's your car, put whatever you want to put on it...what do you, or ANYONE else for that matter, care about what 'others' think of your choice?...YOU have to live with it, not them. Life's wayyyy to short to spend it trying to please everyone else."
