Hey guys. I know I'm late but hopefully I can add some helpful information.
Around post 134 you were putting up schematics of the door wiring showing the lock and unlock button wiring highlighted with I assume the purpose to open and close the doors.
FYI. My car is a 98 Canadian spec car. I once left the keys in the ignition and locked the doors using the door button. I came back with a clothes hanger and slid it in the door to press the unlock button. The alarm immediately sounded. Using the door panel unlock button will not open the doors on my car without sounding the alarm once it has been locked and closed. And, the door lock button definitely arms the alarm. I didn't have a working fob for a while. during that time, I once tried to open the hatch but it stuck and I left it. The hatch later popped when I was at work and the alarm went off and got the next door neighbor had to come over and close it.
If you look at that diagram, you will see a "Door Latch-Driver" component bottom right. In it, there is a "Door Key Switch". That is the switch that needs to be used to deactivate the alarm (and open the door?0. I will note here that you can turn the key to unlock 2x and the other door opens and if you turn the key to unlock 3 times the hatch will open. I would have to go out to the car and check that if I do the 2 turns if the door unlock is electrically activated on the side I'm using the key on. It's possible it only unlocks the opposite door and uses mechanical means to open the door the key is being used on but I doubt it. Let me know if you want me to check - I will check back here in 12 hrs or so. Worse case would be hit that key switch first 2x then the door unlock button next.
I think you guys have the ignition switch bypassed no problem. Just imitate the resistor and close all the appropriate switch contacts. The column lock bypass or not should not matter. If you get past the ignition security (ie the passkey) then it will unlock when the key is turned to either the acc or ign position. The column lock bypass is a bypass not a defeat. It just simulates what the column lock motor part would do if it was connected.

I've been building these for the Supra guys but have yet to ship one out here for the C5 guys for testing. I still need to create the brackets to adapt the button. I should get off my *** and get this done....

I volunteer my car as the guinea pig. How do you wire it? you have NO idea how much i'd like to never have to dig for my keys again.

Does anyone know the make and model of this headunit? It really fills in the headunit console. Sorry guys I can’t get the image to show up, but it's the picture that Radioflyer has put up of the owner with the push button ignition starter.

George, dre99gsx - I already volunteered to guinea pig this but George you go ahead and take this! I'm way too busy now with hunting and the new EL faceplates plus my new seat covers should be arriving soon.......

That bezel has been modified to fit that head unit, a rather time consuming OR expensive operation, search "Double Din Bezel". They did an excellent job though...

Yeah, looking on that audio shops website it looks like they just modified the Headunit slot and kept the HVAC and ashtray slot oem size, which I really like versus moving the HVAC down and filling in the ashtray.
Here is the link for the shop that did the keyless ignition and the headunit install.

I have no problem with that. I'll keep you (George) on my list then. I have yet to create wiring instructions for the C5, but they exist for the Supra. It will be fairly similar. I provided a link to it 2 pages back I believe.
I'm getting two sets, one Red and mostly stock looking except for the addition of a C5 Jake for the logo. The second set will be a bit wilder with flames and such... I'm doing the initial fittment verification for them right now, awaiting the second set with some fixes.
But as usual I digress from the subject of this Thread!

OK cool! BTW Like myself, George won't need the wirring diagrams, as a matter of fact he can probably write them up for you as he goes like I was going to do...
