As for an update, I haven't done anything else. I am still waiting on that circuit diagram of the ignition switch positions. Even though I have a good idea of what each position does and which contacts are closed, I still need to know the power routing through those contacts. I'm not ready to fork $140 on a shop manual just yet. Was hoping someone could scan it or possibly allow me some access to a manual.
Do you guys love popcorn or is this the latest trick on increasing post count?
Hopefully I can have the wiring ready in a few days. A few folks have offered to purchase the first unit AND help me with the kinks. The hope is that it works right off the bat. I also need to find the part number of the plastic key hole cover. I'll be precutting those and including them in the kit. Looking at making this as plug-n-play as possible.
I'll be sending a link here for the installation instructions for the Supra. You guys can then read up on it and get more familiar with its operation and installation (will be similar to the Vettes).

Both....not really. It is an easy way for a possible customer to get back to this tread and stay updated on what's going on. Hopefully one day your push button start/stop will be Plug n Play and readily available for us electrically challenged at a decent price.
Thats the intent, but being that I cannot locate a MALE connector that can plug in directly to the ignition harness connector, the installer will need to do some cutting/splicing. Us Supra guys have TURBO TIMERS. I was lucky to have the adapter cables for those which makes installation of this start button so much easier.
Wow this is a lot to read! I've installed many alarms in these types of vehicles and I don't see any reason that you can't tap the FOB's receiver to disarm/arm the security system. It works with remote starters when you only want to use one fob (the starters and not the factory unit) You can even pop the trunk with the aftermarket fob if you tap it there. There are guys selling the whole unit for the newer C5's that have the fobs included so you can use the newer cheaper tire pressure sensors since it is the same RFID system. The VATS system is a really easy bypass. With the Column lock bypassed it should be a no brainer. The only thing you would lose is the separate memory pre-sets for each fob. You'd still have ONE if you use the wires at the receiver.
I'm one to leave it all stock....but I applaud your efforts and I will help any way I can. (I wouldn't rule it out for the future, though.) I have all of the manuals and can scan some pages if it will help.
I've read a bunch of posts from people that have no idea how this stuff works. If done right this system will work WITH what's already in the car, the system will just use a different way to trigger the devices. Black ZO6 is right about a lot of the systems, but they won't be affected if you tap the right wires. The system doesn't know that it wasn't the FACTORY FOB that triggered unlock, it would just perform its function like it WAS the factory FOB. Just like all the remote starters I have installed in these cars. It just uses a passive system rather than an active system.

not to put down the OP's thread though, I just don't understand the use (pros) of the idea of a push button start. The Viper's set up is a joke, you have to put the key in and turn it part way anyways.
I have a C5 and bought a C6 two weeks ago. I prefer the key, I really do. That damn panic button on my C6 FOB has gone off twice unintentionally, and no I didn't have keys in the same pocket. Really pisses me off.
