Guys he already has one available to someone that wants to give it the first try. I will let him post or pm the price which I think is very fair for something of this caliber. In a couple of weeks I will be seeing if he either has another one if someone has already picked up his first one or if he has anymore ready to go.
I'm still missing some small details with regards to wiring, the key cylinder to be specific. A good few photos of the key cylinder front, back with good lighting. The schematic for the key cylinder should show ACC, ON, CRANK or something to that nature. Can't find them online.
I think we could use the same black button you've seen on my Supra. Just need to hog out the outer key cylinder plastic a bit for the button to fit. Red button may be too tacky.
I can either ship this where you have to cut and solder the ignition wires (I don't recommend quick-taps for those heavy gauge wires), or if I can find a connector that plugs into the ignition harness, plug and play.
Still don't have a solid candidate to give this a trial run.

I have a full FSM and can do the install like I mentioned above.
I ordered a lock from ebay. Give me a few days. I want to make sure my button will fit and look good. I'll have photos as well. From the looks of it, this will fit nicely. I think you guys will be please with the kit.
Judging from the ignition lock, I may have to leave the wires bare and have 'you' solder wires. I'm not sure everyone here can solder correctly. Have to think of the easiest way to connect about 6 wires to the ignition key cylinder harness.

Also, can I have a second person verify that after you LOCK with the inside door switch, closing the door (setting the alarm), wait a few minutes, unlock the door with your key, open it and wait a few minutes, that the alarm does not sound? I need to make sure this is consistent so that I can adjust the code accordingly.

Mine worked just as you described...
I'm up for Guinea Pigging also, I've torn my dash apart so many times it's put together with velcro now! I've got 20 plus years at component level repair on PCBs and do alot of LED mods for Forum members.
A thought about the VATS resistance, what about using a variable resistor and dialing in the correct resistance specific to a vehicle?

Just my simple mind thinking here, but wouldn't the extra components for that drive the price up noticably?? The way I'm looking at it, anyone who tries to install one of these is going to have a certain level of technical and mechanical savvy, so it wouldn't be too much to leave the resistance and resistor figuring up to the end user. Just my $.02
The end user can buy a $0.20 resistor and just hack it himself. Should be fairly easy. But, it would be recommended to solder the resistor.
I just got a 2004 ignition unit. From the looks of it, you can probably snip off the two-wire connector that provides the resistance from the key to the computer and insert a resistor from the back, plug it into the computer side of the harness, and be done with it.
Alright, another thing I need. Does anyone know if the black plastic ignition cover is a separate part number? This is the part with the words OFF, ACC, ON written on it? I just test fit my Avalon button. It fits nicely in the bracket, so thats a plus. But, the plastic key cover needs to be cut. I can offer a pre-cut plastic if those parts are available separate or let the user cut it themselves.
I'll mod the one I have here and take a photo. See what folks think about the look of the button.
