Guys,

I'm getting the following codes in my 99 with the old style:

U1016
U1096
U1064

The fobs work, no problem, i have even reprogramed them. Then i get to the tpms training in the DIC, i cant program the tire sensors. I looked up those codes and they are malfuntion/communication problems.

Before i tried to reprogram the tpms, both of the right sensors were working and were giving readings. I put some "new" (used) sensors into the left side and cant program them. They could be low/dead.

What do i need to do to fix this? Will the switch to the newer style fix this or is there something else? Thanks for the help!

So did you just have it wired up wrong? Or was there something else to get it working right?

Yikes.... I'm gonna tackle this while I'm waiting on my seat to be finished. I'll be sure to double and triple check the wiring picture here. Thanks for the heads up

I got the parts from gmpartshouse.com .

25773946 tire pressure indicator sensor, 2001-2004 - $36.32 4 each required.
10312535 remote control door lock receiver, 2001-2004 - $67.01
25695954 un-programmed remote control door lock transmitter, fob 1, 2001-2004 - $41.04
25695955 un-programmed remote control door lock transmitter, fob 2, 2001-2004 - $41.04
12102635 Connector - $26.12
I know this is an old thread but just was wondering how the old wiring harness comes out farther? Mine is stuck and I'm afraid to pull on it too hard to break something. I can barely see the old transmitter box let alone the harness end. Any help is appreciated.

Is this conversion still an option for my '99? The newer model receivers appear to be discontinued as best I can tell.

Unfortunately, this is an old thread. I'm getting ready to replace my TPMS on my 2000. The replacement Schrader brand are only $160 bucks or so for 4. (part number 28006) My fob still works, but if I ever need a replacement, you can still get one for less than $100 new. At this point, it appears this 'upgrade' is history.

That's what I concluded as well. Ended up buying the Schrader 28006 replacements from tmpsdeals on eBay for $161.48. Just waiting on my new tires now before I'll know how they work, but not expecting any issues.

As of now, both receivers are still available in the used market, albeit not cheap. It's still valuable to know that one can switch should one or the other become unavailable.
