It woulden't be hard to get the 35hp, just CNC heads and tuneing. The question is does ANYONE have any REAL facts that arent ascribed to "un named source" Ric

I would bet the farm on it. I just think people on this forum should know before they take a huge loss on their current vehicle to buy an 02 Z06. Dont forget the 03 Cobra Mustang is coming out with 390 reported HP, and with no F-body to go up against it, what does the General have left to spank it?

I had someone who tests drivetrain components (a manager) for the C6, and he said they are testing them for:
C6
Z06 = 450HP
Base = 405HP
just kidding!
I don't have a clue what's coming for '03 but I think it's funny how those that own the current "king of the hill" are usually the biggest critics, skeptics of the coming of a more powerful model. It was the same thing when the '01 Z06's were announced..."my cold air box, headered, cammed, LS1 is just as fast as the LS6" and so on. GM has done the incremental HP gain trick for years. That's how they keep us comin back for a new car every couple of years. Hell, I was PISSED when I found out about the 385 HP Z06 3 months after I bought my 2000 FRC, but that's how it goes. Myself, I hope the 435 number is true but I wouldn't want to bet either way.

My point of bringing up the C6 numbers, was just to substantiate the 435 numbers for 03. 435 seems like the logical step for the anniversay and Z06, leading to 450 for C6.

I just went from a C5 to a Viper ACR, and let me tell you this thing definately
turns. I am extremely loyal to the Vette and I dont buy in to that Viper vs Vette "which is better" BS. I just love cars and had to comment on your statment.

I'll probably get nailed by the forum police but my dream car is a Viper. I have driven them extensively. My buddy has a 650 Venom that I would about sell my soul for. I love the Vette too and beleive the rumor. Although I think they will wait to put the 6.0 in the C6 and crank out around 450ponies. Too bad the new Viper is coming with 525 :eek:

I'll probably get nailed by the forum police but my dream car is a Viper. I have driven them extensively. My buddy has a 650 Venom that I would about sell my soul for. I love the Vette too and beleive the rumor. Although I think they will wait to put the 6.0 in the C6 and crank out around 450ponies. Too bad the new Viper is coming with 525 :eek:

Yes brother, I can relate!!! I passed up on the '01 and the '02 Z06 for that reason. And patience once again has shown to be a virtue as we now have plenty of HP options. GM can keep their FRC Z06. No flames intended, just my opinion and taste.

HA-HA - Great point on the TT, but then your car would like every other C-5 out there and there are plenty out there! The appeal to me of a Viper is that you don't see one every day and when you start modding them, the HP gets up there.
I figure if I wait until 2010, I can buy a new C-7 with about 600 hp. I can have that and my '00 C-5 since when you get right down to it, the C-5 is pretty cool. Peace.
