The Z06 has different transmission gearing and 4:10's would make you shift out of 1st pretty quickly. My coupe with 4:10's requires you to shift at 30 mph at redline and 48 in second.

Any bad experience with 4.10? Leaks? Whines? Improper break in? All Good? I bought the gears but am having second thoughts. Yet to installed them.

The only way Id go is to buy a complete diff from a place like RPM. Zero worries that way!

I bought my complete diff with 4:10 gears from DTE. You really have to know what you are doing to
install these gears in C5 diff. No leaks or whines.

A properly set up gearset will not whine. Where are you located? Be sure to find a good shop that has experience with this.

Or send your set back to RPM and have them build a diff for you and then do an exchange with your stock diff.

Or, if you've changed your mind, send me a pm with how much you sell the set for.

What tires are you running and what is your redline? My MN12 with 4.10s and short 315/30r18 tires 1st is good for 42mph and 2nd 61mph with a 6800rpm limiter.

Prob because he is still running factory limiter which is 6000. Still you reving 800rpm more doesn't equate to the mph difference.

That is correct. I have read that raising the rev limiter does not equate to more performance on a stock engine like mine. As a matter of fact 5800 is the peak for stock so no point in pushing it past that unless you are doing the 1/4 mile and trying to avoid another gear shift. I run stock size non runflat tires.

Exactly as I run a 1" shorter tire than stock and shorter trans gearing. At 6000 on stock size tires, MN6 trans and 4.10s it equates to 44mph in 1st and 65mph in 2nd.

I tested this out for you this morning. I have stock size tires on my 2004 Coupe MN6 and 4:10 gears. At 55 I was doing 1400 rpm.
