Default 0w20?

Mobil is marketing a 0W20 full synthetic oil for better mileage.

Any issues in using this in my LS1 in a warm climate?

I wouldn't use it in my C5. It is not what the manual calls for. You should be using 5W30.

The 0W20 is designed to go with some of the newer engines that have been tested to use it. Your LS1 hasn't.

Unless you live in the ARTIC TUNDRA,, stick with the 5/30 or 10/30 oil.

I use 0W-20 in my C-5 during the winter......while it's in storage! I like to start the car 2-3 times during the winter to circulate the oil and lube up the seals, etc, , run the A/C in defrost mode for the same reason, and keep the valve springs from sitting in one position for too long. I put the "light" oil in it so it will start circulating faster.

Make that X6

All of the bearings in your engine require a particular film thickness of lubricant. GM put 5W30, even on the filler cap, for a reason. Unless you feel like using your engine as a test bed for a thinner oil at like temperatures, I would stick with the recommended.

Keep your foot off the floor if you are concerned with fuel mileage...

I noticed some of the new Toyota's come with 0W20, but I have a hard time using zero OR 20 weight oil, even in engines that are supposed to be designed for it, in Texas. I changed the oil in my daughter's 4Runner and used 0w30, but I would not use it in an older engine.
I use 10W30 Valvoline Synpower in my Z06.
