Default Mn6 or Mn12

So my transmission is jacked up in my 1998 vette...I'm wondering would it be worth upgrading to an Mn12 over my M6?

My car is pretty much stock except the longtube headers, and exhaust. I plan to procharge it sooner or later and run about 8psi. I do more hwy runs than anything...very little track stuff. All drag racing...

A good functioning MN6 or MN12 will do the job. The MN12 has different ratios than the MN6.

The things that break are pretty much the same for either tranny. If you move up significantly in the HP world, you will have other things to worry about!!

You will need a hardened transmission output shaft, need to harden up your differential and will for sure need a bullet proof CLUTCH!

TRUST ME ON THAT ONE!

I did a HEADS CAM up grade and my stock ZO6 clutch failed. The clutch hydraulics were more of the issue than the clutch but, if you change the slave and master cyl, you better stick in a better clutch.

I up-graded to a Transzilla T-60/60 conversion by Richmond Gear. Man,,she shifts like BUTTER and a LOT more bullet proof!





Here are two post that I used to beef up my rearend using C6 ZO6 parts... Its a very cost effective and DYI up-grade. It worked FANTASTIC!
