C5 Ignition Switch Replacement

If you cant, ,, you can probably get the center console out enough to get the switch assy out and be able to work on it. You can CUT the tumbler off the switch and work from there.
Cut or grind off the part that has the cable for the shifter lock and take the switch to a lock smith.

interest, because I am getting column lock trouble, and, with respect, for the great assistance.
At one good deed a day, I would top out at 365 a year. One helpful post probably helps hundreds, if not thousands, over time. So It makes it tough for a regular guy to keep pace in the good deed department. At least it is a fine incentive. Thanks for showing the way to keep these cars on the road.
I was just imagining the giant heaps of used C5 corvettes all over the place if they had not included the ability to read the trouble codes. People would loose interest real fast if not for the great internet help and some hope, well founded or not, held in the trouble codes.
Since I'm riding for a fall, as the old buckeroo's used to say when things were predicted to go bad, with my currant state of intermittent column lock performance, I will thank Mr. Curlee in advance for his help here. Really liked the 03 circuit diagram, I need to copy that, for future needs, yet I barely understand it , sigh......
Best luck to the poster, sounds pretty tough.
I don't know if this applies, but sometimes with worn locks, the cylinder pins get worn so that it becomes possible for the cylinder to briefly follow the key as it is pulled out. Enough travel to prevent key removal and the lock function. To work the lock, you have to push the cylinder back to align the lock pins. Looks tough to get to on this car, the cylinder is covered.
