That will be good information for others looking to buy on AliExpress. I chose Careucar and paid more money because I couldn't identify a particular AliExpress vendor that had a track record with other CF members. If you can get good price, product quality, and service from this vendor I'm all for it.
It doesn't look like you got the TIS 2000 disks (2) with yours but that probably isn't a big deal. I didn't see them in their listing or your picture.
My Grand Niece has a coloring book page that looks just like that ????
I hope TIS2000 can give more useful info regarding troubleshooting on C5 than a colouring book .
The Tech2 can record snapshots ( two I think) of a number of parameters
. These snapshot recordings can be started by a DTC or manual started pressing the Tech 2 keypad .
These snapshots can later be uploaded from Tech 2 to the PC with TIS2000 and replayed as shown on the sceendump below .

Ok, well that's pretty cool then. I couldn't find a use for it. I hadn't looked into data captures mostly because I've got HPTuners. But still, that's a neat feature for someone who doesn't have another way to do a datalog.

Yes, the BOSCH TIS 2000 v13.0 was included. Also a BOSCH v13.0 Electronic documentation disc.
In addition to those two disks, there were three other unlabeled disks in white envelopes labeled TIS 2000 #1, 2, 3. I don't know what is on them because I haven't loaded them on my laptop yet.
Update:
OK. I had a chance to look at what is on those other disks and it looks like they are just a slightly older version of the TIS2000 found on the Bosch TIS2000 disk. You should be all set. I don't know why they bothered to send those, but they did.
Used it to set up a new keyless remote/TPMS/Sat Radio receiver. Had a no communication DTC and reciever was bad. Grabbed a new one, installed it, established communication an initialization so the BCM would recognize the receiver. Used it to set up parameters for TPMS and the TPMS relearn, then used it to program some REK Fobs. This was not a C5. It is a platform that requires a Tech 2 to program the Keyless Entry Remotes. I'm probably even or in the black after 1 day of use. I would have been at the mercy of a dealer if I didn't have the Tech 2 in my box of tools.

I tried to get mine to give me some diagnostics info on a 2004 Silverado yesterday so we find an issue with the A/C. I couldn't find much on the A/C. Either I'm lost at it or needed to plug in another device. Do you need to use the Candi module or something else to get it to talk to the HVAC? Anyone know? I could only get to some very basic stuff under the radio section, and I had a hell of a time figuring out what vehicle codes to put in for that truck. Finally decided on K for the line and T for the 5.3L. There's a T and Z 5.3s, and the SN on the truck has a T and a Z in it. Furthermore, the digit used on that truck for product line was using a different digit than I do for my own H 2003 2500 series. I use the 4th digit, this 1500 uses the 5th.
I did have to use the Candi for what I just did. I got a notice on the Tech 2 that I needed the Candi module to perform the tasks I was trying to access. I read most of the manual and it is my understanding that when the Candi is plugged in, it is dormant unless it is required for a task, therefore aside from the extra crap in the way, there's no reason not to just use it whenever you use the Tech 2. That way it'll keep me from burdening myself with more information than absolutely necessary.

What year vehicle were you using this on that you needed the CANdi module? I was under the impression that the CAN bus replaced older OBDII protocols in 2005, on Corvettes and some other GM vehicles and the CANdi module was a converter so that the Tech 2 OBDII GM Class 2 serial bus can communicate with the CAN bus. I haven't had a chance to read about the CANdi module in the manual yet but I suppose it could work as a OBDII pass thru device if it senses that it is not connected to a CAN bus. I just don't know enough about it.
K-Spaz: I did find a list of vehicles with CAN bus and it looks like the Silverado didn't get it until 2006.
Hmmm, I was under the impression that OBD2 was always CAN.
There are many different protocols that fall under OBDII. CAN is one of them Here is a good article explaining the differences. Haven't had a chance to read all of it, but it is written so the average guy can understand what they are saying. (Good for me) http://advancedautomotivetraining.co...cs%20State.pdf

I read on one of the code scanner manufacturers sites that after 2008 all new vehicles sold in the US had to use CAN.
It's good that the Tech2 is able to recognize that it is connected to the CAN bus and displays a message to install the CANdi module. You don't really need to think about it. If you need it, it will tell you.
The older SAE J1850 VPW protocol (C5 Corvette)uses pins 2,4,5,16. Gm uses there own version of J1850 and refers to it as the Class 2 Serial Bus. The CAN protocol (C6 Corvette) uses pins 4,5,6,14,16.
The J1850 data is on pin 2 and CAN data hi and data low are on pin 6 and 14 respectively.
