Well got the engine completely out. Wound up going out the bottom. I got a good look at the head bolt holes with a flash light and they look fine. I don't think I'll have any issues having the machine shop just gone the cylinders and install a new forged rotating assembly. I been doing a lot of reading and I think I'm going to go with the 383 stroker.
Yeah just waiting to get the block back. Hopefully next day or two. Then I gotta install everything. I bought a lift 2 weeks ago so I hope it makes everything easier.

I guess it is all working out.
I asked CharlieC5Z06/ (the OP) to clean inspect each piston at TDC early on in the thread before having the heads rebuilt as part of the troubleshooting.
As it turns out it seems like all this work needed to be done anyway. It will be a like new purpose built engine. The lift will also be handy later. I would love to be able to change oil in 10 minutes. I'm going to have to get a lift.
Well on another note. Since I had the heads off again I wanted to double check the cylinder walls and one piston was at top dead center. So I turned the crankshaft and when that piston went down I saw this. It's a straight line in the cylinder I can just catch it with my fingernail? Is the ring messed up?
This was the post that showed one of the bad cylinders.
