Position the headlight switch to the OFF/CLOSED position. Pull the fuse for the headlamp control unit. MANUALLY close the head light using the manual ****. Crank it down nice and tight on the lower stop. Insert the fuse and see if it will stay shut.

I tried this and it did not work (removing inside fuse #52). But I noted that you said to "crank it down nice and tight on the lower stop" - in my case - when the doors are closed - the lever is resting on the upper stop not the lower stop.

If you scroll up and look for my "A and B" pictures - the "A" picture shows the lever hitting the top stop - this is how I'm oriented when the door is closed.

Do I have the lever improperly installed?

I just spoke with the people I purchased the motors from - they suggested I simply reverse the 2 wires that run down to the motor from the harness - this sounds simple enough.

Should the new ballasts have insufficient resistance I'll look at other posts for guidance

Annnnndddd one of the Chinese housings cracked while cranking on the adjusters

I've contacted the "well-known vendor" who sold me these repaired units at a discount to see if we can work out a swap for the better units and just be done with it.

You get what you pay for people - don't cheap-out.....
