Jeez I forgot what a pain it is hooking up that belt what a friendly reminder ... I found keeping the alt bolts out and then attaching the belt worked better . Later on get on the tensioner spring and insert the alt bolts . Think it’s a better aligned the. Before I guess maybe a hair or two more on .

Now to the next gm fun step hooking up the air intake to the blower I know this prob ain’t gonna be easy as well just like everything else on this car .

Well...hey that went better then expected straight forward put the coupler and clamp on the blower then fit the intake plenum with air filter on . All hooked up. Tighten down the steam lines release any captured air and hopefully it’s good no more squeaking . If so then the power steering pump is coming off and getting replaced . I’ll be sure to move the belt out of the way this time so it don’t get soaked .

If you're using a 3.8 pulley and standard diameter balancer, the RPM Gates belt p/n recommended by A&A is K060910RPM. If you're using a standard Gates belt, it's the same p/n sans the "RPM". Gates shows that to be 91-5/8"...maybe that's why you're getting frustrated with a belt change. Belt too small?

That’s the part number I got from aa yesterday the problem has always been since day 1 that belt never fit right . Seemed a bit to loose maybe they sent me a 3.6 pulley I dunno . But the belt I got now will be permanently used on every replacement for as long as the supercharger remains on it it’s a good fitting size

But this Gates k060905 does fit nicely . 90 7/8 , 13/16mm .

What number does your pulley have on it? It's clearly etched into the pulley. Sounds like it probably is a 3.6, but very easy to tell.

No numbers just aa corvette engraved. My bad 3.8 DIA as well. So ya 3.8 . A 90 7/8 belt fits it better .

Finally ready a for test start after this little dubbie.

Interesting. I know the RPM belt is less forgiving, so maybe the extra stretch of the standard belt allows it to fit.

The Gates is just as not forgiving. Maybe a dorman would have some stretch or possibly a continental. Gates was what was recommended by AA .

Feel snug and not over tight . Just as any other belt I’ve put on other car and I’ve done check on my other cars feels the same . The was a thread I forget who it was but they happen to use a slightly smaller belt as wel with the aa 3.8 v3 and same result was a better fitting belt . The threads around I just forgot where I was reading it .

Ok maybe a tad over tight but I can easily fix that . The noise upon acceleration however is still present. It’s less but there still. Maybe the belt adjustment will fix will see later when it cools down.

Any chance you have some bearings letting loose in a tensioner / idle pulley, or even in the blower?

Nah it was a little over tight and new took some tension off all quiet still getting that sound as before .

I am suspecting the 8an fitting on the back of my boost block . Sounds more like a air leak now that I think back to taking the vise grips to it one day not finding the wrench or the crescent wrench. .

Do a boost leak or smoke test to check for boost/vacuum leaks. It's much easier than trying to find the noise with the engine running. Eliminate any/all leaks and then check to see if the noise is still present.

Got to be the boost block..dunno how to do a smoke test but don’t think I have that equipment. It’s a similar noise before when I tightened it when it was loose somehow . Maybe threads aren’t align your something it’s easy enough to get at . Maybe take me 1/2 hr to get it apart and re connect.

My guess is 9.2 -9.4 at 146...if I can get to 155 I’ll be looking in the high 8’s . That being noted . The next thing I would have to do is put a roll cage on or the day I make one pass they’ll prob ban me for a while ...So I guess the next project has a vision.
