I don't know if I'm doing this right. I can't figure out the correct way to reply to this post. Anyway, I had the same issues with my c5. I installed a "LMC5" and it cured every issue except for the TC/Traction Control. That was 9 years ago. Car still runs fine today. Google or ebay LMC5/Line Module C5 Corvette. It cures the communication between the PCM and BCM. Takes 20 minutes to install. Good luck.
as cheap as it is it’s worth doing just to be safe in the future. Thanks
The LMC5 doesn't cure communication between the PCM and BCM it bypasses the column lock function which prevents the fault that causes the 2mph fuel shutdown to occur.

Mightve been worthy of noting before but I can remove my key from the ignition while the car is running with no problems. Except for for the time I drove to work and had to go back home because I left the keys in the door because I left something in there and forgot to get them
VooDoo, you are mistaken sir. I know from first hand experience that LMC5 regains communication between PCM and BCM.
LMC5 fixes steering column lock issues and restores communication between PCM and BCM. This is what it was designed to do. The Tech ll will tell you loss of communication between PCM & BCM causing power loss and steering column lock issues. All that goes away once LMC5 is installed. If he still has issues, I would replace components at PCM located behind right (passenger side) wheel well. Back to LMC5, it takes 19 minutes to install. It is a definite need for 1997 - 2000 Corvettes.
Update. It’s been in the shop since November. They finally found a Tac module for it and that didn’t fix it.
They checked the harness and found that there’s something wrong with the ecm. +$750 to the bill. Said if that didn’t work since there wasn’t fuel pressure it’d need a fuel pump +$2,200 🙄

Get the hell out of there fuel pump seems very high. Thats my opinion. From what ive read u can only get used tac modules. on certain yrs. So ask them is it new. Took my friend under an hr to change one. But what do i know. All the prices might be on the money.

Final update.
it was the PCM. The squirrel nest definitely caused moisture to get inside of it and it shorted out somewhere. New pcm fixed it right up
As Les55 stated, you do have column lock DTCs and that should be fixed with before it bites you. Get an LMC5 if it doesn't already have a column lock bypass installed.
