Hey, guys. Just wondering about replacement C5 fuel level sending units, specifically this:
Can you buy new sending units WITHOUT the fuel pump? All of them I've looked at have the pump, which I can't use due to engine mods on my LS7 EDIT: 2000 C5. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.....

Well sort of...depending on the model year of your car....as example for a 2003, left/right available but for a 1999 only left available...

Are you replacing it because of inaccurate fuel readings? If so, have you tried multiple fuel treatments in your gas tank?
This year it took me about 4-5 bottles every few months to get my typical 7/8 tank filled to finally read max F this weeks fillup. Adding about 1/2 tank with the 20 gal treatment Techron bottle.

Yes, inaccurate readings. I've always had luck with Techron, but sooner or later, its not gonna work. Really need to know if the senders can be bought independently of the fuel pump.....
How about it, guys? Anyone know? I just can't see laying out $600-$800 for a couple sending units, when I can't use the fuel pump.....
There are just the fuel level senders available, click on the AC delco link here>>>>> ACDelco Online Catalog

That link only shows a part # not price or availability
Unless I missed that

I've seen this happen. Techron helped with the gauge not showing full after a fillup, but I still see the right side sender dropping to zero when both tanks get below 1/2 full. This can be observed by the fuel level increasing after the siphon pump has moved most of the fuel from the right tank to the left. I've always used only top-tier 93 octane, and I'm tired of spending $ on additives.
I really wish GM would have revised these senders and replaced the silver with gold. This is the fourth 99-01 era vehicle I've owned (two were purchased new) that had this easter egg. All in the name of saving pennies.
Try taking out your existing ones and clean the contacts with wet sandpaper and electronics cleaner spray. Other CF members have used this method and it works. Total cost: ~$10 (or free if you already have these handy).
"Finally removed the.passenger side fuel sending unit and cleaned the oxidizing and tarnished contacts and sweep contacts with very light wet dry sand paper and electric contact cleaner. Solved. Cheap fix considering the absurd price of a new unit if you can find one."
Mine would read off or would stay the same after i put 3 gallons of gas. I put techron 16oz i think fixed it. I wouldnt hesitate to use it again if i needed to.
Thanks guys, but I still wish I knew whether new ones can be bought without the fuel pump. Last week, wife and I were 50 miles from home, in the country. Tank went from 3/8 full to empty in about 100 feet. When I filled it, it only took 12-13 gallons!! So, was final 5 or 6 gallons still available? IDK. I've used many bottles of Techron. Always worked......Until now!!
You can buy new GM sending units from Rock Auto. WITHOUT THE PUMP. For use on either side in a early C5. They are like 50 bucks. Part Number is 88950663.
Beware that it is always listed as Left Hand only. Per the instructions this is NOT the case. It can be used on either side. The wiring and connector are the same and the way it connects or clips onto the hat is the same.

At Rock Auto, I'm finding part #19421094, Left, for $44.79. Different # than I was given, but says it's made for a 2000. Man, $44.79 is WAY less money than I've spent on Techron, let me tell you!!!
