Oh hey that's a good spot. I believe I'll have to be moving my foot well placement now that I've gone to the larger R3. You may have helps a brother out on this one.
It's not exactly a Lego project. Sometimes we gotta cut.
I am still pondering the inner torque tube tunnel wall on the passenger side waybuo forward. Accessible and out of the way. And I don't think anyone would see the carpet bulge. I kept spare carpeting from the last coupe as well so I have large spare sections of matching black carpet if needed. We'll see. I might not have to worry about access other than to verify wires since this new box is fully Wi-Fi controllable and no plug in is required. Maybe I can be more creative stashing it.
You can also see down at the firewall in those pictures where I added a ground bulkhead stud. I needed an extra ground for the ignition/fuel relay box part of the harness and the wires were not long enough to make it back to the trunk for the battery. So I ran a 2 gauge cable from the negative to that and then my harness to there. On the engine bay side I ran another 2 gauge cable from the stud to the engine block above the starter. For some good wiring tips, check out Devin Vanderhoofs videos on youtube (Devin also owns HCR which is the engine harness I have for the holley). He has a good dos and dont's video for holley install, but it is relatable for other ECUs as well.
I haven't caught that specific video but have watched or listened to a number of his. I have typically gained knowledge and then new channels to follow thanks to the various Sloppy Radio Shows. They make good listening while working in the garage.
That will be another project on my end getting the battery wired in and routed. There will be accessory studs up front for ease of access and diagnosis. I'll figure out how to run it some day at 2am when frustrated and say 'eff it, it's going here'

I guess it is more for this car now than for the Z06, but I pulled the trigger on a deal for Kenda Vezda UHP max+ tires in 315/30-18 to go on the EC7s for about 262 per tire on ebay.
If you're going to tear up some tires best to keep them cheap. Doubly so as I have zero track experience and have no aspirations to be winning Le Mans next year.

Ha! Oops. I posted to the wrong thread as I had yours up for the videos.
I have bridgestone re050a's as street tires for the Z, these as track tires for the coupe, nittos for street tires for the coupe only, and I'll have to see about a pair of DRs to swap between the two on some spare wheels.
Diff is finally back in the car. Scraped all the paint around the flanges and the rtv out of the groove. Used a bit of Vaseline on the trans to diff oring so it wouldn't get snagged going together.
Which trans mount is that? I am laughing but I really like that they put the torque guide right at the bolt site. I can totally see taking a marking pen in some areas and doing the same in the future to save on the Google hunt for numbers!

Well, took Friday off last week and got busy on buttoning the car up. Got the rear end all fastened back together. Ended up stripping the one diff mount hole out so needed a heli coil. Luckily the cradle was still separated and just needed to be dropped down all the way to get the drill in there. Easiest heli coil I have ever needed to do lol. Remembered I needed a new brake hose in the rear since my one got crushed in the garage accident last year. Grabbed a pair of stop tech hoses for the year and replaced those as well as tossed a new set of duralast gold pads in the rear since I lost one or two pads in the same accident. Sway bar back in and diff filled. Got the vacuum pump to catch can hose and fitting terminated/routed finally.
Got 2.5 jugs of coolant in the thing, leaning forward on the stands so the reservoir is full until I tip it back and let the motor drink some more. Interior is basically all back together aside from the center console and radio surround. I could still stand to lose some more weight as the 17" Kirkeys are snug on me right now. Would like to go to the 18.5" wide, but I feel they wont fit without trimming a lot of plastic out on the door side.
Put 10 gallons of VP110 in the thing. Just need to pressure check all the lines and fittings I added... Oil needs drained and then I need to reprime the system... Tuner is working on a base for it currently, so get that in as well.. Make any changes to the stock computer and should be good to fire up this weekend.
Drove it around the neighborhood last night. Drove like a bag of dicks, but tuner said the map got rescaled somehow during saving the file possibly so nothing was going to act right.
