Damn Mark, I know how you feel. Last week my car was finished except for the tuning and this week I've got the heads back off and the cam ready to come out. No racing next weekend for me either  :cry
Have you changed the oil recently, and maybe some dripped down onto a hot turbo/exhaust part? I hope that it's nothing serious, and I'm sorry to hear of your missing the beginning of the racing season. Hang in there Mark.
Thanks everyone, I just got back from the track, the start of our race season this year and I had to start it with a borrowed car once again....
:( damned Mark! Tell you what...............take all the LPE crap off your car right now :smash: .......hell I'll help you........and even give you a few bucks for it :jester
I wouldn't sweat it too much. I'm sure LPE will take care of you. The garrett turbos they use are rebuildable, probably just needs some new seals. One thing you can do to help is install a turbo timer. After you pull the key it will keep it running for a few minutes to bring the turbo down to temperature. When you've been running it and the turbos heat up if you just shut it off quickly they can cook the oil and seals.

Thanks Jeremy, I'm hoping that's all it is, now just to get them outta the car, it's a TIGHT fit and I'm not sure after spending some time under the car, I'll be able to do it myself. Also, that sound like it coulda been the culprit, as it was a straight shot home then there she sat, wish I knew before hand about that kinda possible issue.
I've been following this post hoping for some good news or a simple fix but it never is--pretty damn dis-heartening--I just spent 30K+ rebuilding everything on mine and I can't even make this m#@$&*^ idle--so I am no stranger to being totally disgusted as of late--hope to hear some good news on this one Mark

:iagree: Thats probably it, you 86ed the seals. It is a fact that any turbo charged car needs to idle for 5 min before shutting down. That gives plenty of time for the oil to circulate in the turbo and cool the sucker down. Good luck on the repair, sounds minor! :grouphug:
A couple of thoughts since we have done quite a few INCIN twin turbos on the F-bodies and toyed a bit with the C5 LPE stuff. On the F-bodies, the passenger side turbo hung lower than the drivers side. If I had a problem with the passenger side turbo leaking oil, it was usually just a scavenge pump issue as the lower mounted turbo tends to retian oil more as gravity does not help much. We have since started usuing check valves to keep oil flowing away from the turbos and an upgraded pump.
If it is the higher mounted of the two turbos, it is a good chance that it is a turbo seal unfortunately. We at times have the turbos here in stock and replace them, not rebuild. If you talk to Ed or Tim at LPE, they might not mind if I look at it for them as they have several local and SE customers come to me for issues that arise at times. Not saying they have piles of issues by any means, just a local look before a a potential unnecessary trip.

We have it good down here Bob, for sure!!!!
I will be calling also trying to get this cam install lined up :yesnod:
Been there, done that. Looks like your turbo internal seals are shot. This occurs mostly by oil coaking or getting the turbos red hot then shutting the engine down without letting it cool. The oil then stops flowing through the turbo and ends up looking like cholesterol in your veins. You can get the turbo rebuilt but it will require new bearings/seals. The biggest pain will be the labor charge. That is the biggest reason I went with Big Cubes/Nitrous, less moving parts meaning less to @#uk up.
I wish you all the luck Mark, I know you just spent a ton of money on that car. :cuss
