BTW, hope GM can figure out what your problem is and get it fixed pronto.
that fob did way less than the C6 fob does with regards to battery usage. I cant imagine these new fobs' batteries will last nearly as long.

Default Please Explain the Advantage of Push Button Start?

I don't really care one way or the other. Doesn't matter to me whether I carry a key or a fob....you have to carry something with you either way....right?

Seriously, I'd appreciate it if someone can explain the added value of the push button start.....?

Besides, it's kind of a theft deterrent in itself...Most morons that turn to crime are not smart enough to know that with the FOB you can just walk up, open the door, and go. Now, give him a key, he'd know what to do with that...if he could find the key hole.

Added value of 2 cents:
You just have to tap the starter button and it takes over. Kinda neat that you don't have to hold it down.

Well...How about this...You will never again have to worry about you or your wife trying to start your C6 Corvette with the engine already running?

If dense drivers constantly attempt to engage the starter with the engine running, it will booger the flywheel ring gear and the starter pinion gear. Usually the damage won't keep the starter from functioning, but cranking will begin to sound junky.

With the push button start, pushing the button latches a relay until the starting sequence is completed. I suspect that pushing the button again won't do anything if the engine is already running. It only makes sense that they designed the control system to lock out any start activity with the engine running, but I don't intend to try it...anyone tried this yet?

I decided today to just leave my key at home from now on. One less thing putting a bulge in my pants.

Default Everything Perfect Here!

The keyless works great and is one of the most well thought, convenient enhancements in a long time!

Sure, and while at it, I will explain to you the value added benefits of a cordless phone, a television remote, search and scan radios, tire pressure monitors, broad band internet connections, fax machines and wireless internet services.

Its called progress. But sure, you can get through life with none of the above.

.you have to carry something with you either way....right?
The difference is that you do not have to remove that something from your pocket.

Have had 1 message one time when I turned off the engine. Got the no fob message. Took the fob out of my pocket and everything was okay.

Wouldn't trade the keyless unlock & keyless start for anything. I frequently get into or out of my C6 with both hands full. Don't have to bother looking for the car key.

I with SilverCoupe on this one. I really like the no key thing.

I hate not having keyless on all my cars.

As Ron Popeel says, "Set it and Forget it".
