make sure you setup the alarm.... a very cool feature. If someone tries to open your door when it is locked, the horn honks as a warning...

I have it on an 08 Z06 - no issues.
- Can't turn on the radio as it could on the C5, but it can pull down the windows an inch for venting.
Cheers,

Got mine yoday and put it right on. The basic up/down and vent works fine, except the motion is jerky and I see the Nav screen going on and off. Is this a common issues of the Valet? I have pulled it and re-installed it to make sure it was seated properly,

Hold off on yours....I have seen this before and this is a uncommon issue but happens and there is a fix. Let me research and I will let you know what you need to do. I am checking with Top Down, but I think this is an issue with the ground pin in the valet is not making good contact with the ground pin in the OBDII port. Try plugging it in and out several times to wear the protective film off of the OBDII pins. They have a protective film on them from the factory that for some reason is more present on a few cars and then not at all on others.

Let double check, but I think this is the problem and it is easily corrected.

Thanks,

Jim

Tried what the above says few times. Still not smooth, but it does function. Any other ideas?

Hi,

Ok, I just want to make sure this behaves like it should.
When using the C6 Window Valet on an 08 coupe to roll up and down the windows via the remote, the stereo comes on during the roll and shuts off when finished.
Is the radio turning on and off normal or not? If it is, I can live with it (though I don't recall if my 03 Z06 behaved the same). Just don't want something that it's not supposed to do.

Thanks for any input.
Steve

I wish this unit had an option to put the windows up automatically when the car locks.

So I can just walk away from the car and the windows roll up.

When or if this option is added you will have my $$.

I know it could be a safety hazard but that's what your disclaimer is for right?

I have this issue too - I thought it was normal. What's the fix?

Default Just Purchased

Just purchased the WV and it works exactly as advertised. I do not have the jerky problem, but then I do not have the NAV either.

The only thing I would like improved is that it seems to fit loosely in the OBDII port. I think I might zip tie it in as I am sure it will fall out on some of the freeway roads around NM.

Minor issue and I love it for these hot summers.

Jim, you have been rediculously active and responsive on this thread, and this is the first I have seen of it, as I am new to my Vette (2 months).

I have noticed that there are a few posts that you have avoided response to.
There has been a mention of a request for windows to automatically roll up with 1 touch (while in the car and car is on) and for windows to auto roll up upon exit of the vehicle and vehicle lock.

I don't know why these questions are posed to YOU, as you are just the vendor. I think those questions should be directed at the manufacturer, but whatever.

I would like to know if this can be modified to also roll down my top! I would like to know if this can turn on my AC. If my AC is left on before I turn my car off, will my AC turn on when my windows are rolled down to blow out all of that hot air?

Should I look to a $500+ system to do all of that?

Hi Josh,

I think you answered your own question as to why people ask me instead of the manufacturer, because I am here and easily accessible....same reason you went ahead and asked me the exact same kind of questions you were just remarking about instead of going to the manufacturer .

As far as your questions, no, none of the things your are asking for are available nor will they be anytime in the near future or if ever.

There is not a way to reprogram this device to do other things, it is hard programmed with it's basic features and then the user can tailor some of those functions to there liking.

I am not aware of anything (for any price) that will perform the tasks you would like to perform.

See ya,

Jim

P.S. I do not try to "avoid" any questions, sometimes the same questions are asked me in PM which I will answer there and may not go back and also answer the same question in the thread. Yes, I might sometimes miss a question or two.....
