if they start in 2009, i'll wait till 2011 to check them out. same thing i did for my current c6(2007). 3rd production year seems like a good wait period for kinks to be gone.

While its still way early yet, I am excited about what the C7 will bring.
First off, I look for more horsepower, I mean who knows, while it might not have the 505 of the current Z06, I suspect somewhere between the 400 we have now and that 505. Probably around 450 maybe even as much as 475.
The new engine will have been out for a while before the C7 comes out.
The body styling promises to be updated.
The comfort features and electronic gadgets will be even more remarkable than we see in the C6.
We are already seeing a 100K drivetrain warranty in the '07 C6.. Thats kind of hard to change/rescind for an auto manufacturer. I look for the C7 to have at least a 75K mile drivetrain warranty if not 100K.
So yeah, as the C6 heads into it's 4th model year, I am excited about the C7 and what the future holds for it and have definite plans to purchase one when they come out. And one of the reasons why I'm not getting too crazy on the mods right now. The only question is if I will keep a C6 too.

I will get Corvette's as I can afford them ... if the C7 is out in late 09 ... I would be surprised, especially since your CorvetteBlogger source is from April 06 ...FerrariChat thread was a joke ... and the info from Rick Conti (someone who is accurate often) is from March.
More recent info indicates the LS7 around until 2010 ... so that probably mean's C7 in 2011?

It's all SWAG for now....fun to speculate about a C7 but who knows.
It will have to be one Hell of a mind-blowing car to surpass what I'm driving now, but if the looks and performance of a new model Corvette exceed what I have now...I would buy one (I might even keep the 'old' C6).
I wouldn't necessarily hesitate to buy during the first model year either (my late model 2005 has been extraordinarily trouble-free). I also would not hesitate to modify a new model Corvette (to improve performance) either. If you can do it....why wait a year or 60 months or whatever to enjoy a car?

well from what i read....they want to keep the vette cycle for 5 yrs 6max, that would be DEC 2009 right, since the c6 came out in dec 04 right?

Wouldn't introducing a new model Vette in 09, or 10 steal some of the thunder from the new Camero. You would think GM would want to put a couple of years between those 2 cars.

Tough one.
First the rumor of 430-440 horse in the 2008, maybe even 450.
Now a NEW C7 in 2009.
Chevy's marketing department is hard at work.
So far I love my 2007 and the 2005 gives me no problems and has lots of equity.
This is gonna be a rough couple of years for me to resist trading.
My track record says I won't be able to.

Burning Brakes
Very interesting, but as I am so fond of saying, based on past experiences regardless of manufacturer - I never buy the first year of a new generation anything.
