I find the same solution with my '08 as I did in my '01. You either drop the passenger window 1.5 " or your window 1.5" or both. That kills the buffeting.

Do you at least get LESS buffeting? I like the fact that it keeps things from sliding all the forward and throws the (weak) rear speaker sound towards the front. Less buffeting would seal the deal for my purchase.
I've been using this partition for quite some time now. It's a great unit and makes storage much easier, especially right behind the seats.
I have never noticed any reduction in wind buffeting ... at all. The position of the windows, as others have already mentioned, has a much more significant effect on wind buffeting than anything else. I have also not heard any change in the response of the rear speakers with the partition installed.
So, it is IMHO, a very well designed and useful accessory. Don't expect it to be anything more than what it is, and you won't be disappointed. It will not eliminate wind buffeting, and it will not turn your crappy OEM sound system into a concert hall.
One of the best things I like about the partition is it stops the cargo flap from flapping all over the place with the windows down. You see it in your mirror flapping around and it's distracting. The partition takes care of that problem too.
Tom: how is it secured? Or do you just simply set it in place.
And yes, today was a gorgeous day. I'm in heaven down here.
It simply pushes in place. I don't know if it solves the bufeting when the top is on or not since I haven't put the top on since I installed the partition, but I have no buffeting with the top off, windows down (or up), and the top stowed in the trunk behind the partition. I also have the cargo area cover that attaches to the inside of the trunk lid and the forward flap on it doesn't flap around in the breeze like it used to either. So I'm real happy with it and will probably like it even better when I actually need to put something in that area and it stays there.

I just checked out the EXOTICVETTE web site and I am going to order one right now! That is an awesome idea! Looks like it fits great and solves several issues I have with the truck area/storage. Best part is you can still store the top!

However, the wind noise level seems a little less. I think the primary reason to have the partition is how practical it is for just having a place to store things without having to open the lid to retrieve it, or stomp on the brakes to shift it forward Personally, I like being able to store the top with it in place. Really a great little mod with multiple benefits. Great product from Exotic vendor.
Well, I made my own partition and organizer - great for road trips and stuff. And it prevents people from accessing stuff in the hatch area with the top off when parked.
The reduction in buffeting is substantial. It's now possible to have a conversation with the passenger at 65 mph with the top off!
So is the title of this thread "Solution to Buffeting" false advertising or not?
I wasn't trying to advertise for anyone. I just thought someone else might be as annoyed as I was with the buffeting and flapping in the car with the top off (which is my primary mode) and that they might appreciate the difference a little damn partition makes. Make a box for yourself and try it! It has to break up the air flow inside the car - that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!
I have the same divider in my car and had the top off and windows down on Wednesday on my way to Moroso via I-95. I was doing around 80-83 and there was still a lot of buffeting.
I have not driven the car with the top off and the divider out so I suppose I don't have a good comparison.
For what it's worth, I've driven a C4 with the top off and windows down on the highway (70 mph) and that was positively a horrible experience. The rear cargo area would resonate due to the glass panel interaction with the wind. YIKES!!!

Tom,
Thanks for the tip. I ordered one off your recommendation and look forward to getting it in. The benefits of it as a divider from the rear hatch and the nice little sealed "trunk" will make it 100% worthwhile. And anything else, like buffeting reduction will be an extra bennie. FWIW I suspect one's tolerance for buffeting is much like one's tolerance for exhaust system drone. What I'd call no drone would probably give another vette owner a headache and vice versa.
