OK, this morning I drove it to work across the causeway to the beach with the windows down and the top on. It was a calm morning - the water looked like a mirror. I didn't experience any buffetting. So in my car this partition solves the buffeting issue in either configuration (top off with windows down or top on with windows down) and I am a very happy camper.

Sounds like a good product. Would you happen to know if this will fit over a Loyds Trunk Mat?

Do they even make the trunk latch thing for the C6 to hold the rear lid open? I had one on both of my C4's and used to use it quite a bit until it broke and the lid came up. Some reason it happened while I was sitting at a stop light so no big deal.

I never take off the top because it is so loud so this is worth a try.

Tom -

Please DO let us know about fitment with a trunk mat.

I am about to buy both the partition and a mat myself (probably a Stratmosphere), so I really need to know if they work together.

THANKS!

Pretty cool.

Just thought I'd add... the real solution to buffeting is dieting.

Mine work pretty good. Too bad the Vette's design didn't address this issue eliminating us to come up with workarounds.

OK, so incredibly stupid question here:

Has anyone ever tried one of those buffet reducers used in the Vert? Would that work in the coupe?

Had something similar on my C4 , had people always honking and telling me my hatch was open

I see I'm not the only one trying to answer that question.. I've tried calling exotic vettes for the last few days, but no one picks up...Perhaps they're away for the holiday, so I'll try again next week. In any case I don't think I'll order one unless I can talk to a real person there.

Well that is a dumb question or you are joking; but the truth is both the coupe and vert has too much buffeting noise at speed and you need more than those hatch lifters to fix this flaw.

i think vent air is the company which makes the latch extensions . I had them on my 98 and also my 05 coupe. they work extremely well. I have driven over 90mph with the roof off and windows down wearing a baseball cap and the cap did not move. Also my wife will not ride in the car with the top off if i don't use the latch extender. with out it she would have to tie her hair back. with it she can ride in the car with out her hair whipping her in the face. great product, easy to use and is only around $50.

I agree that these work pretty well and reduce the buffeting and turbulence quite a bit. I still hope that someday there will be a "factory" solution in the coupe and vert that affords a much calmer interior environment.

I was wondering the same thing. Not a stupid question. Anybody got access to this item or experience?
