Probably a lot more than my wife thinks I've spent.

I don't keep a running total but it's a considerable amount. I consider it money well spent though. As track performance is slowly taking precedence over street use, I have a few more things I want to do to the car over the summer. It's all good...I have a lot of fun with the car.

A few thousand $$ so far with wheels, air intake and Borla
Exhaust. Headers are on order and then Super charger next
so all in all it will add up around $14 - $16M but should come
off the rack at around 520 hp so for an '03 that should be fun

A lot! and a good portion of it wasted
Exhaust:
800 for clear bra, took it off, didn't like the job, plus went widebody
150 for magnaflows. liked them but replaced when I got headers
1200 for LT headers and catted xpipe
600 for b&B bullets (resold for same amount, so net 0)
1400 for Corsa 3" Z06 exhaust
150 for muffler shop to adapt it to the kooks x-pipe (had to cut off the reducers and weld)

Engine:
4500 A&A Supercharger
-3500 sold A&A supercharger
2500 for installation and tune
2000 for fixing mistakes of first installer and retune elsewhere
haven't got the price for the uninstall yet, car is finishing up today.

Body:
4100 for widebody kit
2500 for paint
1800 for mcm hood
1800 for carravaggio bumper
7900 for repainting entire car correctly

Wheels/brakes:
5000 OZ racing wheels and tires
2000 Replicas with MPSC tires for track
1200 Z06 calipers

Interior:
1400 Avic Z1 from ebay, it broke, no warranty
1900 Avic Z3 from a real store
400 in other misc. stereo install parts
150 Lloyds Mats
50 center console repaint

I think thats all, but there is probably more. I know there will be either no more in engine mods, or about 12000 for a 466 stroker though. Haven't decided if I want to commit to several more years with this car, which I will have to if I put that much more in it. I've had it 3 years, and thats a record for me. Fortunately, there isn't much else out there that interests me at the moment.

TOTAL of above:
37120, of which about 8000 was just wasted on stuff that had to be redone or is now off the car.

Fortunately, it has all been paid for with my powdercoating income, which is my play money.

About 6k. Biggest costs were the CCW's and the Zoomer's exhaust.
But the smaller costs add up quick!

Wow.

Well, since you put it up here, I totalled it and it came to $39,400.00, thats with getting back the $3,500.00 for the supercharger, otherwise its $42,900. Thats so far. With another $12K on deck to go towards the stroker.

Thats going to put you up and over $52,000.00 in mods. The known record for mods on a C6 seems to be 80k+. You are making a run at him.

When its all said and done, taking into account the original sale price of the car, you should have right around $100,000.00 into that car. ButI guess its all relative, seeing as how one guy states that he spent $100k in mods alone for his C5.

Congrats, because you are hanging with the best of them. Its somewhat of a dubious "award", but hey, its an award nontheless.

But its obvious, that you could have bought another brand new Vette for that kind of money.

Geezus.....what am I saying???? You could have bought a 1LT base Vette AND a 1LZ Z06 for that kind of money.

I gotta ask though, with that kind of money into mods, who insures it? What if its totalled or stolen?

Yeah, I agree with you. Some major bucks have been spent here. I had just never added it up before so it surprised me.

my modded 350z was with progressive, and I told them how much I had in mods and paid a little extra. With USAA, which I now have, anything permanently attached is covered.

Yes, I could have gotten a couple of vettes, but also, I have had this car for over 3 years now, and will have it for at least 2 more with the money I have put in it. I know for sure, that if I didn't mod it, I would not still have it.

Aside from my 350z that I had for almost 3 years, I have never kept a car for more than a year to a year and a half, and to me, when I got married, it was an excuse to get 2 new cars a year. I think by modding and keeping the car longer, I actually come out spending less money.

After this, I am probably switching to leasing and no more major mods. Best to know all my costs up front and just deal with it.
